The story was inspired by the few second glance of the Saddle Arabians in the episode "Magic Duel". I own all of the characters and the plot, but not My Little Pony, Hasbro owns it.
Prologue
A foal, her pelt a shade of gray that is almost white, lays beside her mother. She calmed down from her crying, and her mother has smiling at her first child. She was looking healthy and strong. The foal got the light silver color from her mother(although she's a bit darker than her daughter), and her dark brown eyes from her father.
"Miss! News from the desert!" A lime colored unicorn burst into the room. She had a dark green mane and a few pink hearts on her flank.
"Is it about Ali?" The mother sat up, but tried not to disturb the foal. "Yes, but you might not like the news..." She said nervously. A light green glowing aurora formed around her horn and on a piece of paper. "He won't see the baby for a few more days. He's running behind a bit."
The mother stared at the paper. She read every word over and over. She didn't know what to feel. Rage or sadness? "Thank you for telling me," She sighed and lay her head on a pillow.
"Will you be...alright?" She asked.
The mother nodded, managing a smile. "At least he'll arrive, right?"
The unicorn nodded. "Right! So what will you name her?" She asked, smiling at the filly. She smiled at her and lightly stroked her mane, which was a mere Mohawk right now.
"Arzu, of course!" she smiled and nuzzled her foal.
"Did you have a sister or something named Arzu?"
"Not exactly. She was a friend that died in the desert." She answered and she glanced at the door, for some reason feeling like her husband would enter the room.
"Oh..." The unicorn didn't want to say sorry. The mare seemed to be over the whole thing already. And even if she wasn't, she didn't want to keep the conversation going. She felt she'd cry or something. "So are you hungry?"
"A little, but I'm a bit more tired than I am hungry." She stretched a bit and lay her head down on the pillow.
"Alright. I'll come back, to check up." The unicorn smiled as she left the room.
