A/N: Written for the A Drabble a Day Keeps the Evil Digimon Away Challenge, Round 1. This round's character was Matt, and drabbles have to be 100 words.
If you're interested in entering, jump right in (the challenge is on the Digimon Fanfiction Challenges forum, link found on my profile). You can join in any round, and it's before the 21st, you can squeeze in an entry for this one too!
Okay, enough sales-gibberish. Enjoy my drabble; it's been a while since I've written something exactly 100 words.
Silent Harmonics
The music he wove began tuneless and without purpose nor will. It was simply him using a tool he held: a cheap plastic harmonica TK had cried for, then thrown away. Matt had picked it up, and while the toddler had snatched the blocks back with vigour, he'd ignored the instrument. And so Yamato raised it to his lips and blew, because he could.
His brother looked at him, then laughed and begged him to try again. And so Matt blew again, and the sound became softer, gentler and more meaningful with time: the memory of his brother's laugh.
