Charsi looks up at me from the equipment I've laid out on the anvil before her. "Quite an impressive pull this time around." She says.
I nod. "Better for you to have the gear than those monsters, right?"
She nods, and looks back down at the equipment, appraising it. "The katar's mostly worthless to us, but I suppose I could melt its blade down in the forge if we needed some scrap to repair our weapons." She's talking to herself. Kashya told me it's how she processes information quickly.
"The gloves are ethereal. I'd have to check with Akara to see if it's been enchanted to repair itself."
I shake my head. "Don't bother. It was one of the first things I got out there. It hasn't repaired itself."
She nods, and moves on. "The buckler looks like it's made of some decent materials, and the hard leather you found is in very good condition as well. The bow-"
She drops the final piece of equipment almost immediately after she picks it up. "That thing was freezing to the touch." She looks up at me. "Where did you get this?"
"There are some caves that run under the Cold Plains." I explain. "While Electra and I were down there, a group of Dark Rangers started shooting at us." I shake my head. "The first arrow that hit me sent a wave of icy cold through my body. I felt like I was frozen solid. The feeling lasted for a second before I could move again. Didn't let them hit me after that, but I will need a new shield."
She laughs nervously, and I laugh with her. We both know that I came close to death.
"All in all, I think that I can give you about 8,000 pieces of gold for the equipment here." She says.
"That much?" I ask, surprised.
She nods. "The buckler and armor are in very good shape, but the bow's naturally imbued with an intense amount of ice magic. If one of our archers were to use it..." She trails off, letting the idea soak into both of our heads.
"I'll take it." I say.
"Great!" She exclaims. I help her move the equipment off of the table and into the armory behind her. We make light work of it, and return to the anvil.
"So, not too much trouble while I was off, I hope?"
She shakes her head. "No. A Fallen war party did come by to try to do some damage, but they didn't last long against our archers." She pauses. "Thanks again for the arrows last time. We were dangerously low."
I nod. "Sure thing. Now, you said Fallen, right? Any shields?"
She nods. "Yes. One of them was carrying a shield that I think you're going to like." She turns around, and starts going through the weapons and armor until she finds what she's looking for. She turns back around, and puts the shield down in front of me. It looks like a standard round shield, two feet wide, made mostly of wood and reinforced with metal.
I pick it up, and am immediately surprised. "This thing is insanely light." I say.
She nods. "No sacrifice in strength, either. The bugger we took it from had at least a dozen arrows in the thing."
I look up at her. "Seriously? A dozen arrows?"
She nods again. "Light enough to get where it needs to go, strong enough to do its job once it gets there."
I nod. "How much are you asking?"
"A little under 2,000 gold." She says.
I nod, and separate out the requested amount from the gold she'd given me. She takes the gold, and I take the shield.
"Thanks for the shield." I say.
"Thank you for the bow." Charsi says. "Though, if I may ask, why not give it to Electra?"
I smile. "Electra knows how to channel ice magic into her arrows already, and the only real purpose for it that we've discovered is keeping those damned Fallen Shamans from resurrecting their comrades. I figure that you'll need it more than we will."
She nods. "Stay safe out there!"
I smile, thank her again for the gold and shield, drop off the extra gold in my stash chest, and turn to Electra.
"Ready to get back into the fray?" I ask as we walk towards the portal.
She nods. "Let's do this."
