Hey guys it's me. I was thinking of making this story a LOT better than this. I read it over and I said, "WOW, this is horrible." So, I'm not really going to change the plot, just making the chapters longer and better. Maybe even put in new ones! But this may take a while, so please be patient. I'll actually add the ships this time that I was supposed to.

Chapter 1: Cheerleading Practice

"One, two, three, four! Come on, Vicky, you got to make do it right! NOW!", the cheerleading captain, Misty Waterflower screamed to one of her fellow followers, Vicky Snowpoint. They were in the gym practicing for cheerleading.

"Sorry..." Vicky looked at her with a sad face. She was really shy and new to the school, and wasn't used to Misty's awful and hurtful yelling yet. Barry had always told her not to listen to her, but she always did and got hurt.

"Don't mess up again! Or not I'll really lose it!" Misty was *this* close to losing it. But then again, Misty was always close to losing it. She screamed her pretty little head off to everyone.

"Okay..." Vicky walked off into the line again.

"Geez, look at THAT attitude.", Dawn Berlitz said to her best friend, May Maple. "No duh.", May responded. They were practicing for the big basketball game so that they wouldn't look like complete losers. Dawn was actually FORCED into this by her best friends, May and Ash Ketchum. May wanted her to be with her in cheerleading so they could have something together. Ash wanted her to cheer on for him. And Dawn was definitely not happy with Misty being the captain.

"YEAH!", someone said. "ASH! What are you doing?!", screamed Misty. She stared at the person dressed up as a Herdier and recognized him.

"What? I'm the backup school mascot AND the best player on the team, so don't judge me.", the boy said, who was none other that Ash Ketchum. He wanted to be the school mascot since the person who is was absent today.

Dawn, who was wearing her hair down with no hairclips, said to Misty, "HEY! Being the captain doesn't mean bossing everyone around!" She was pissed off with her sour attitude and was especially mad with her for screaming at her best friend. She was also mad that she had to wear a short skirt that almost showed off her butt. She definitely didn't want any pervert to see it.

"Excuse me? I don't remember YOU being the cheerleading captain. Or am I wrong?" Misty asked to Dawn. "Do you know how hard it was to get this position?" Dawn seriously wanted to punch her in the face. She couldn't stand her at all. And she couldn't believe that Ash used to be her boyfriend. Yuck, who'd want to be her boyfriend?, she thought to herself.

"Not very hard, I guess. I mean, you did elect yourself as the cheerleading captain." Dawn said to her. "And by the way, your shoes are tacky."

"Oooo~ You messed with the wrong blueberry!" Ash said to Misty and started to laugh. Misty puffed up her face and stomped away.

"ASH! You know how much I hate it when you call me that! ...Brownie." Dawn replied. Ash concocted the name back in eighth grade, when they first met. They hated each other back in those days. But, Ash eventually started to be nice to her, and she's still a little sour to him, but they're best friends, nonetheless

May came over and started to crack up. She never saw Dawn stand up to Misty like that, and thought no one would. But she was glad that her best friend didn't act like a pussy. But then again, even she was a little scared of Dawn, because of how she could bark at you for a long time, and maybe even beat you up. But that's why she chose her as her best friend, right after Ash of course, whom she's known as a brother since fourth grade.

"'Scuse me, could I borrow her for a sec?" May asked Ash. But, before he even answer, May skedaddled away with Dawn. They needed a private moment, and if Ash was there, it wouldn't be private.

"Oh. My. GOSH!" May squealed. Dawn was absolutely confused at what was happening. But then she knew what was going to come.

"What?" Dawn asked, even though May was going to mention Drew, and she already knew that. Dawn couldn't believe that her best friend liked that stuck-up jerk. But May would be May.

"I think Drew likes me! Eeeeeeee!" May squealed. May had always taken a liking to Drew. She didn't care how grouchy and mean Dawn would be whenever she mentioned Drew, or how she called him a copy of Justin Bieber. She loved everything about him. His hair, his eyes, his personality. She always dreamed that they would always get together.

"Ugh, not Green boy again." Dawn said. She really hated how stuck-up Drew is, and how much May and a bunch of other girls are in love with him. Dawn thought that she was the only girl that didn't like Drew. She liked someone else. A certain someone else.

"Yes he does! At least I think so. He asked to be my biology partner yesterday! Wait, who are you going to pick as your biology partner?" May asked, curious. She also knew the answer. She loved pairing people up, just like Lyra. May already knew that Dawn liked Ash. It was sooooooo obvious.

"I don't know. Why are we talking about biology? We have it LAST period." Dawn said, fed up with May's antics. She's been trying to pair her up with Ash ever since they became friends. She didn't quite understand it. Every time May asked if Dawn liked Ash in a certain way, she would always deny it. She thought that she would never like him and never will. But that doesn't mean it's true. Dawn wasn't obsessed with him like his fan club, but when he started warming up to her and being nice and polite, something in her opened up to him.

"Because! And anyways, I think Drew gonna ask me to prom! I have my prom dress and everything. Hey did you know-" May was cut off by a pom pom landing in the middle of the girls.

"MAY! DAWN! WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU GUYS DOING?! STOP SLACKING OFF!" Misty yelled at them. Misty was always jealous of Dawn. Her hair, her eyes, her style, EVERYTHING. But she used her big ego to mask it. The real reason why she hated her? Because of how much time and how much periods Dawn had with Ash.

"Sorry!" Dawn said. Hehehe, not. Dawn had hated Misty since day one. She never knew why Misty hated her, but the first day of school, Misty dumped her lunch tray on Dawn's head and pretended it was an accident. It obviously wasn't. Ash would always tell her not to listen to Misty, but it looked like she had almost the whole school against her. The only reason why Misty let her in the cheerleading team is because the principal was there.

Suddenly the bell rung. Ash ran out of there as fast as he could, but not without Dawn. He grabbed her hand and ran. He ignored Dawn's screams. He looked back and saw Dawn's angry face. He just grinned and kept running. "There! Here we are!" Ash said, letting Dawn go. Dawn saw it. The door read: Math. Dawn had always hated Math. She never quite got the hang of it, and it was the reason why she never got straight A's. She would always get a stupid B, and she hated that.

"Hey! At least I have it with you!" Ash said cheerily, smiling at Dawn. Dawn's heart did a flip. She didn't quite get why whenever Ash would talk, greet, or even look at her, she would feel nervous and her heart raced. She loved his caramel chocolate eyes, his black messy hair, which represented him in a good way, his form, not too skinny, not too fat, just right, and his great personality. But she knew that it wouldn't work out, even with May's shenanigans. Dawn gulped as she entered with him.

So, how did I do? I felt that this was a lot better than the original chapter, longer and with more content. I'll be uploading more chapters when I have the time. Please review!
