-Introduction-
"Aaaaaaaughhhhhhhhhh!"
I slammed into the earth; kicking up dirt, sand, rocks and other debris all around me, blacking out.
I heard a muffled voice calling out to someone, "Yo! I found it man!"
I felt the sand shift around me, and then a sudden weight pushing down on my chest. Get off me damnit, you should be saving me, not crushing me!
I felt a tug on my arm. I tried calling out, but sand instantly filled my mouth and I couldn't spit it out. It was both gross and painful, scratching the roof of my mouth, and providing some discomfort to my tongue.
"Whoa, I'm thinkin' somethin's got a handle on th' bag!" the person yelled.
I hoped there wouldn't be any misunderstanding on how I got my hands on their bag.
"Stop being so weak, nothing would be here but Trapinches that could even try to pull it down!" the partner voice shouted back.
Trapinches? What the hell are those?
"Guess you're right." sighed the first voice, as it shifted its weight above me.
A huge yank and I flew right out of the sand; I swear I could've continued back up to where I originally fell from if I hadn't held onto that bag's strap so tightly.
"Hmm… what's this? Hehe." chuckled a huge reptilian.
I shuddered as the oversized blue cross between a dinosaur and crocodile stared right at me. Its jaws were locked, but I felt as if it would clamp down on me soon enough. It cocked its head at stared right into my eyes, poking around my soul- playing around with the fear floating around in my mind.
"Stop scaring him already Snap, jeez!" cried out another figure.
It was an insect with large and jutting appendages, resembling scythes. He had a grin that appeared almost toothy, although it was just an exoskeleton. He hopped over, fluttering a little with his wings. What a way to come into a world: petrified, buried, and confronted by creatures that appear to be able to kill you in the blink of an eye.
"Wh-who are you… m-m-mister?" I stammered.
"I'm Lee, and as you can see, a Scyther. My partner Snap is the one giving you the death stare." The bug replied.
"A-and what exactly i-is h-he…?" I wimpered.
"I'm a Croconaw, dawg!" the reptilian exclaimed, as it pushed me off his bag and slung it over its shoulder.
"You're both male, right?" I asked bluntly.
"Of course! Couldn't you tell? The males and females are pretty distinct from each other for Croconaws and Scythers.
Brushing myself off, and hacking up sand, I looked down at myself. Fur. Paws. A tail.
"What am I then?!" I cried out suddenly.
"Cub must've knocked 'imself on the head pretty hard 'r somethin' t' not remember what 'e is."
"Let's just take you back to base, we can explain everything there."
Lee pulled out a shiny badge and shone it on me, in a flash of light I appeared in a room; Lee and Snap appeared an instant after me. They looked down at me, smiled, and led me down a wooden, handmade ladder.
"We'll help you figure this out in due time."
A/N: This is my first ever published work, and I would like any and all advice you could possibly provide to improve the story experience, I look forward to producing more chapters and furthering my experience as a writer! Illustrations may not be included as much as I wish to have them due to the time they consume, on top of the writing process, but you can expect a comic experience some time in the near future!
P.S. Sorry for the removal earlier, I had to find a better way to format the names of the chapters!
