The next morning, the other engines were teasing Gordon.
"Well, looks like someone likes Caitlin!" teased Thomas cheekily.
"I do not!" Gordon hissed. "She's just a dear friend, that's all- Molly is my only love and everyone should know that!"
"Really now?" James challenged. "Then prove it!"
Of course, Gordon did not approve of his son's behaviour and decided that was what he would do.
"Alright then I'll introduce Molly to Caitlin." He told the other engines, whilst giving James a withering look.
And with that, he set off with the Express.
...
Once he was done his first morning, he found his wife working in the coal plant as usual
"Molly!" He called out.
Molly began grinning at the sound of her husband's voice.
"Over here, darling!" She replied, biffing the last of her trucks into place.
"Ah there you are! Listen, I think I should introduce you to a friend of mine."
"A friend?"
"Ah yes- a friend of mine and Spencer's. She'll be at Ulfstead Castle by now- are you coming?"
"I can't be long." Warned Molly as the pair set off, though deep down she was very cautious of where things will be going.
"Don't worry it'll be quick." He assured, though deep down, he was panicking, and wanted nothing more than to get out of introducing his wife to another female engine.
...
Caitlin was at Ulfstead Castle talking to Stephen when Gordon and Molly entered
"Hello Gordon!" She greeted cheerfully. "Who's this?"
"This is my wife Molly. Molly, meet Caitlin."
"Pleased to meet you Molly- oh it is a pretty name!"
"Thank you- and who's this?" Molly inquired, looking at a strange engine Caitlin had been talking to.
"That's Stephen. He's-"Just then the Earl shouted for Stephen.
"Oh I better go so sorry I couldn't stay and chat." Stephen said politely.
"That's alright, Stephen." Molly replied. "I do hope we talk soon anyhow."
With that, the oldest engine on the Island clanked off.
...
"So you are Caitlin?" Molly asked, civilly.
"Yes! I'm Gordon's friend, you see! Oh Gordon, did you tell Molly about the arrow in the stars we saw last night? You know, at Tidmouth?"
Gordon freaked out on hearing that. He knew that nothing happened between him and Caitlin that night, but he was still worried that Molly might take things the wrong way.
Sure enough, her eyes had taken on an icy glint.
