The scent of sandalwood and vanilla permeated the air. Oliver was relaxed with a sense of satisfaction. He loved these moments, the ones where he could look at her to his heart's content. There was no need to be on guard, to watch his expression. He realized that lately others were giving him quizzical looks when he and Chloe shared the same space. He couldn't help it. He couldn't quite say the moment he knew, it felt as if she had always been there, in his heart, tucked away in a special place.
He couldn't believe that she was here, with HIM, in his arms. He craved her touch all the time. They soothed him, the quick touches, the unguarded smiles, how she would look up at him when they were alone. The way her curvy body felt in his arms. How he felt encased in her moist heat, how she moaned his name. Chloe was so passionate. He reveled in the fact that she was so responsive to him, his reserved Chloe was a volcano. He enjoyed teasing her about how vocal she was when they made love. That's right, made love. Contrary to Chloe's various and sundry statements declaring their relationship as "casual fun", he knew that their connection went beyond the physical, although said connection was explosive.
Oliver had experienced many solely physical encounters, and he knew that this connection, this relationship was unlike any other. He smiled to himself, his professor was intent on relegating their relationship as "convenience". He saw her fear and tried to keep things light. He didn't want to ruin the best thing that ever happened to him by being impatient. Contrary to popular belief, Oliver was focused, intent and willing to wait for what he wanted, and Oliver Queen wanted Chloe Sullivan.
As Oliver lay on his emerald green satin sheets cradling Chloe as she slept, he knew that whatever trials lay ahead, he had found what he had been looking for all his life. Chloe represented home, peace, understanding and love.
Chloe Sullivan owned him body and soul. With that final thought, Oliver fell asleep, content and at peace.
Tomorrow the battle begins anew.
