So I wrote this one shot literally 4 years ago (which is crazy), and I realized that my grammar sucks. I couldn't stand knowing that people were suffering from reading this, so I took the time to basically re-write what I wrote years ago. I'm trying to keep the story as similar to what it originally was as I basically rewrite this.
It was one of those days that both Alfred and Bruce dreaded. It was Dick's doctor appointment to get the shots the nine-year-old needed to be able to attend school.
"Master Dick," began Alfred as he made his presence known to Dick who was sitting in the middle of the bed with a book and his stuffed elephant in his arms. "Master Bruce wishes to see you right now. I believe he is in his office."
"Okay, Alfred," said the little nine-year-old. Dick closed the book that he was reading and carefully put his elephant back to where she belong- tucked into his bed. Once he was sure his elephant was nice and comfortable he took off to where Bruce was.
Finding the door to Bruce's office, Dick opened the door and walked in to see Bruce sitting at his desk trying to do paperwork.
"Hi, Bruce!" greeted Dick as he walked up to Bruce who looked up as soon as he heard his name called.
"Hey, Dick," said Bruce giving a small smile as he reached over to ruffle his wards hair glad for the distraction. "We're going to go on a little trip, and you have to promise me you won't be scared."
"Hahaha, that's funny. I'm Robin, and I'm not afraid of anything!" Said Dick proudly as he held his head up.
"You promise?" Asked Bruce. Dick nodded his head. "Okay then, let's go."
Bruce pushed himself away from his desk so he could get out of the chair he was sitting in. Bruce stood up and popped his back before reaching over to grab his ward's hand leading them out of his office.
The two made their way down the stairs and into the garage where Alfred had the car ready for them and was holding the door open for them to get in. Bruce gave Alfred a small nod to let him know that he could leave. The billionaire helped his ward into the car and made sure that he was buckled in before closing the door. Bruce then made his way around the car to the driver's seat.
Dick sat in the back of the car watching the scenery pass by as Bruce safely drove them to wherever location that Bruce wanted to go. Every so many minutes, Bruce would glance up at the rear view mirror to check up on Dick.
"What are we doing at the doctors?" Asked Dick as he watched the car slowed down and pull up in front of the doctor's office.
"You aren't afraid are you?" Questioned Bruce raising an eyebrow at Dick as he parked the car.
"N-n-no," stuttered Dick while Bruce smirked at him.
"No, I'm not!" Huffed Dick crossing his arms.
10 MINUTES LATER
"I don't want a shot! I don't want a shot! Get that needle away from me!" Screamed Dick as Bruce held him still while the nurse stood off to the side a bit with a shot in her hand. Bruce sighed at Dick's behavior.
"I thought you said that you weren't afraid," Stated Bruce still struggling to restrain the acrobat.
"I'm not!"
"Then will you hold still?"
Giving in to Bruce, Dick calmed down and allowed the nurse to give him the shot. As the nurse entered the needle into his arm, Dick kept his eyes on Bruce. While Bruce had to deal with Dick's adorable, blue eyes as tears started to fall down his cheeks. This was the thing that Bruce dreaded the most- the water works.
"Now, that wasn't so bad was it?" asked Bruce as the nurse began to put the bandage over the puncture wound.
"I guess I'd had worse," Said Dick as he dragged his arm across his face to wipe away his tears.
"I still don't like shots," huffed Dick as he gracefully jumped off of the examination bed. Bruce gave a small laugh and ruffled Dick's hair before asking the boy if he wanted to go get ice cream.
