Batman Beyond

Saving Love

-Prologue-

Last And Final Fight:

"I had it, Terry," a woman in her early twenties yelled! "You're never there when I need you! Always running off! Why can't you be like every other boyfriend?"

Terry looked away sorry and sad. "I'm sorry, Dana. It's just…"

"It's just Mr. Wayne needs you 24/7! I'm starting not to believe in those words anymore, Terry! It's been said way too many times. I know, Mr. Wayne is old, but I don't think he needs you all the time. He's not stupid to allow you some breaks!"

He bit his bottom lip. "It's hard to explain."

"Yeah, I heard that far too many times as well." Dana Tan turned and picked up her bags. "I'm leaving, I can't live with anymore lies."

As she started to walk out the door, Terry stopped her. "It's the truth. But I just can't tell you more than that. I can't risk putting your life in danger. I'm sorry."

She looked at him straight in the eye. "I'm sorry too, Terry." She walked to her car.

Terry watched from the doorway as she packed her things and left.

He stood there looking at the now empty space Dana's car was once in and a tear started to escape. He wiped it away, but more were soon to follow.

As he turned to go back inside the house, he slammed his fist into the doorjamb leaving a dent in its wake.

Terry was both ticked off and saddened at the same time. Maybe it was for the best that he have no one in his life.

He guessed he would end up like the original Batman after all.
