AN: I still don't own National Treasure. Katie is mine. Please review.

I was on cloud nine. Just the previous night, Jessica Elizabeth Shay had agreed to marry me. I pulled into Taylor and Bethany's driveway, ecstatic to revel in the great news.

"Riley. Just who we need," Bethany said when I opened the door.

"What do you mean?"

"Katie's in her room, and we can't get her to come down. She disappeared earlier after not finishing her breakfast," Taylor said. He sounded concerned. "We haven't seen her for almost two hours."

I was taken aback. This was not like Katie at all. I walked up the stairs and entered Katie's room. Katie was sitting on the floor, her chin in her hands. She did not look happy.

"Hey, tiger," I said softly.

Katie looked up. She had tears in her eyes. "H-Hey," she stuttered.

"What's wrong, kiddo?" I asked her, sitting down with her on the floor. She got up and sat on my lap. "Come on, tell me what's wrong."

She blinked. "You're gonna marry Jessica, and you're gonna forget all about me, and I won't be your tiger anymore," she blurted out, dissolving into tears. She grabbed her blanket and cried into it. Hard.

"Katie, Katie," I said, stroking her back. "Kaitlyn Jessica Poole, do you really think I'd ever forget about you?"

"Uh-huh," she sobbed.

"Katie, you will always be my tiger. No matter what happens, I'll always have one little girl that I know loves me the most, and I love her just as much. And that's you. The only tiger I will ever have is Katie Poole. You got that?"

Katie nodded, but she did not look convinced.

I had an idea. Not even Come In Through the Firefly Darkness would work here. It was time for another song she loved.

"Come stop your crying, it will be all right.
Just take my hand, hold it tight.
I will protect you from all around you,
I will be here, don't you cry.

For one so small, you seem so strong.
My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm.
This bond between us can't be broken.
I will be here, don't you cry.

'Cause you'll be in my heart,
Yes, you'll be in my heart.
From this day on, now and forever more.
You'll be in my heart,
No matter what they say.
You'll be here in my heart, always.
"

By the time I'd finished the song, Katie had stopped crying. As a matter of fact, I could see the beginnings of a smile forming on her lips.

"Atta girl," I said. "I'll never let anyone get in the way of me and my tiger. But hey, you can give me a better smile than that. C'mon. Smile for Riley."

Katie giggled softly. "I love you, Riley," she said. "Are you still my bestest friend forever?"

"Bestest friend forever," I assured her. "I love you too, Katie."

Katie's smile was bigger now. "You're still gonna take me places, and watch SpongeBob and Bindi with me, and tickle me?" she asked.

"I will never get tired of that, tiger. You know I love to tickle you and watch Bindi and SpongeBob with you."

"Riley, you're the bestest friend ever," Katie said, giving me a big hug. I hugged back. "How'd you like to be the flower girl when Jessica and I get married?"

Katie glowed. "OK!!!"

"Great," I said. "Now, you want the tickle monster?" Dumb question, but I love seeing Katie's reaction whenever I ask. She nodded enthusiastically. I tickled her tummy and she dissolved into giggles.

The door to Katie's room opened. It was Taylor and Bethany. "We heard Katie laughing," Bethany said. "So we're guessing whatever was bugging her isn't anymore."

Katie shook her head. "Nope," she giggled.

"Me and my tiger are just fine," I said, winking at Katie. "Once a tiger, always a tiger."

AN: I hope you liked this. I don't own Tarzan, or the song You'll Be In My Heart. This is based on an episode of Full House, which I also don't own. Please review!
