It was cold that night under the bridge. She had a blanket around her shoulders and was trying to get closer to the barrel that had been lit on fire. Kirk, the man who had lit it, had warily let her stay under 'his' bridge, but she wasn't so sure he would allow her to do much else.
Everything was so screwed up. She used to have a decent life, a loving family, everything she needed. Then, it was ripped away in a fiery blaze. Her old life was ashes. Ashes that got in the lungs and stuck there, making it hard to breathe and speak, leaving damage in her throat that would never fully heal.
God, it was so fucking cold. Her head ached and she wished she could just float away.
When she was little, she had never dreamed of marrying a rich prince and living happily ever after. She was rich already and she could be happy by herself. All she needed was her parents. They were a happy family. Now, she would even deal with the snottiest prince to be rich and have her family back. The rich part made her sound like a brat, she knew that, but she just wanted to have the power to do whatever she wanted. And money was power of the most amazing kind.
Her glance dropped unwillingly to the envelope beside her. It contained money. Money and an I.D. and everything she needed to start again. She felt an itching need to take it and run. Find a job somewhere, get a house, be a new person. But the smell of fire crept back into her nostrils. She couldn't just forget what had happened to her family like that, and this Nikita person, she could help her. They could take down the people who killed her parents. Then she would start again.
A smile stole across her face. Revenge would be a sweet drug to her starved mind.
NIKITA!
I love Nikita! She's totally badass! Alex is pretty cool too. But seriously, I was like, we need a badass girl on tv. I had hopes for Undercovers, but that SUCK MAJOR ASS!
ANYWAY, I'm thinking this will be made into a series of drabbles/one-shots of/by different people. You can definitely expect some Nikita/Michael. Hot Chemistry!
Lots of Love Always,
Helen
