My Promise Pebble

Drabble
A/N: This is a short drabble that I'm writing in between Her Destiny 'coz I feel like it. YAY drabbles! This is in the POV of Ginny. H/G fic.
As I stare out of the window, watching the snow white-wash all in sight, I stroke my Promise Pebble lovingly. Even after all these years, it was still here by my side while he was away. I know most people receive Promise rings, but Harry and I have a special bond; no-one could understand. I laugh as I remember that day on the beach.
Flashback
Hand in hand, we walk down the blustery shore and I peer up at him. We had got back together a year ago today, and I have never loved him more. His ebony black hair tousles in the breeze and his emerald green eyes sparkle in the sun. His face is perfectly round and smooth but faintly scarred from all he has seen. I was so lucky; I had the man of my dreams and he was bloody gorgeous! We sit down fingering the pebbles in the sand, skimming them over the water. This was turning into a serious competition, but, being Ginny Weasley, I can't do competitive or serious, and so I burst into a fit of giggles. Harry laughs along with me and pulls me down to where he's lying. We stare deeply into one another's eyes and lean in for the perfect kiss. I will never forget this moment. Harry pulls away, slightly flustered and smiling, lip gloss smeared across his lips.
"Ginny, I want you to know I love you."
This is the first time he's said it and I am simply blown away. I grin and Harry continues.
"I know we've been going out for about a year now, and I want, no, I need you to know that I promise one day, we'll be together forever."
I am in heaven. The Boy-Of-My-Dreams has just promised me that we'll get married one day! Can this day get any better?
Harry pauses, fingering several pebbles until he clutches one in his palm. Showing it to me, he proclaims,
"Gin, this pebble is like our love. It's a smooth circle; it has no bumps along the way and keeps on going forevermore. Will you take it as a promise to me that you will still love me after many years to come?"
I am simply astounded. This pebble means more to me than any Promise ring ever could. Harry doesn't do romance very well and I suspect he's got his speech from some corny, love book, but it doesn't matter. Harry loves me and that's all that counts.
End of Flashback
Ah yes, the day when Harry told me he loved me. I will never forget. I stroke the pebble and think of all the good times we've shared. Picnic's by the lake, strolls by the river and walks by the sea. We're like two peas in a pod, Harry and I are. We're made for each other. From the day I said 'I do', we've been living together as man and wife; soul mates. I would have never imagined all those years ago when I had an immense crush on him that we would be man and wife now, but here we are.
The front door closes and I know that Harry is home.
"Hey hubby" I call to him and as he comes through the door with a smile plastered on his face.
"Hey Gin."
I peck him on the cheek and ask politely,
"How was your day?" I mean, that's the kind of question wives ask their husbands, isn't it? Got to get into the spirit of marriage now, haven't we? I still can't believe we're married, even after a year.
"Fine, caught a few Death eaters, but I missed you, snowflake.
I giggle.
"Snowflake?"
"What? You're as beautiful and unique as one so why can't I call you that?"
I laugh again and we kiss each other tenderly on the lips. Harry notices the pebble in my hand.
"Still got the old Promise Pebble?"
I smile and reply,
"I wouldn't be without it." and lean in once more.
