A/N: Wrote this before "Fallout" so that might explain a bit.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own "Heroes" which sucks but a good thing because I would ruin it.
The early morning sun broke through Claire Bennet's bedroom window. The light had woken her up and she sat up a little before noticing a bare arm wrapped around her waist. She turned and lay back down, facing the owner of the arm. She lightly brushed a stray hair away from his face. She remembered the events to how exactly she got in this situation.
Claire had been thinking about whom would take her to the Senior Prom. She didn't want anyone specific to ask her- just someone. Zach was going with someone else, so she didn't think of him.
But when it came to two weeks before the dance, she had to do the asking. While she was going through the previous year's yearbook, a photo fell out. It was of her and Peter Petrelli at Homecoming. They didn't go together but he had saved her life and she wanted a momento of it.
Claire went to her phone and dialed Peter's number. He had given it to her in case she needed anything. The phone rang twice before someone answered it.
"Hello?" the voice said on the other line. It sounded tired.
"Peter? It's Claire." She answered.
"Claire, are you okay?" Peter asked, panic-stricken.
"Yeah I'm fine. I was wondering if you're doing anything in two weeks."
"Besides not be an embarrassment to my brother?" Claire winced. Ever since Nathan had won the Senate race, he had been trying to make Peter disappear, literally and legally. "No, nothing I can think of. What's happening in two weeks?"
"It's the Senior Prom and I was wondering if you would want to go with me."
"Sure, when is it?" Claire gave him the date and any information he needed to know. By the end of their conversation, both were excited.

On Prom Night, Claire was getting ready when her parents left for the airport. Her mom was going to a dog show and her dad was going on a business trip. Both requested lots of pictures. He brother was going to a friend's house for some odd reason. With everyone gone, she had the house to herself.
As soon as she was done, the doorbell rang. When Claire answered, she saw a very dressed up Peter on her front porch.
"Whoa." Peter's reaction seemed fitting.
"Thanks. Is that for me?" she pointed to the flower in the plastic box in his hands.
"Yeah. Should I put it on you here?"
"Come in." Claire led him to the kitchen, where his own flower was in the refrigerator.
"Nice place."
"Thanks. Come here so I can put it on you." Peter followed and without difficulty, Claire put it on his tux jacket.
"You've done this before Miss Bennet." Peter teased as he admired her handiwork.
The clock chimed and they both realized what time it was.
"We should probably go." Peter said, holding out his arm for Claire to latch onto.

Claire and Peter enjoyed themselves at the dance, one never leaving the other's grip. A lot of the cheerleaders asked about Peter and his details- right in front of him. Everything was going great until the last dance.
"We don't have to dance this one." Claire said.
"It's the last dance of your entire high school career. Are you sure?" Peter said, giving her a small smile while questioning her.
"All right then." Claire said, returning the smile.
Claire smiled at what happened next. She wasn't sure if her smile was big or there was another reason why Peter woke up.
He had a sleepy smile on his face when he saw her, "Hey."
"Hey."
