First time with this couple. Satoshi and Daisuke from Daisuke's point of view… featuring a break up. Don't ask where that I got this idea. I guess that I kind of got it form my current life situations. At any rate, please review!

"We can't go on like this."

Your side brushes mine and I steal a peak at those averted eyes. You've always been a little distant, your eyes a little distant, but never like lately. You're the only color I know in this bland life, and when you're paled everything seems cold and uninviting, like a story at the tip of my tongue that I can't quite recall.

"Why not?" Your glance is monotone, directed at the wall. You can sense the lack of sanity dry in my mouth, I can tell from how you stiffen. You don't speak right away. Silence is usually welcomed, but now sends static through me when you don't answer and I cannot contemplate a reason for feeling so numb.

"Because." Your eyes close. I itch, itch to reach out and feel comfort, give you comfort in return for everything you've given me. I cannot fathom the reason for my heart's lurch, but Dark knows, and suddenly it's clear to me.

"Why? Why now?" Your eyes remain closed. I receive no responsive reward for my pleas.

"It's the way it has to be."

"Has to be? We've never listened before. Why now? We've always defined time, now shouldn't be different. I don't get it. I don't get you, Satoshi."

Beat. You look at me. Your eyes are blue, blue as ever, but any connection we once shared is gone. You've cut me off from you.

"Good bye." You stand up, your eyes lingering on my features only briefly as if analyzing my condition, and then you're gone, through that door we've gone through so many times all too casually.

It's quiet. I can't hear your footsteps any longer. I long for the feel of your skin, cold and desiring the warmth we'd provide the other and the white of your cheeks and your lips. The warmth of these tears are my own though, and the silence is shared by no other.

And even Dark can't console this overbearing sadness.
