A.N - Right now this is a one shot, but I may do further chapters with other character's POVs from this moment.

This may be a little OOC, but I hope you enjoy.

McGee was pinned down behind a car. The gunfire had stopped, he had probably shot the terrorist inside or he was out of ammunition.

He told Gibbs this over the radios.

"Hold your position. We'll flush him." Was his response.

With his transmitter shot, and potentially a shooter above him, he was stuck behind this car with nothing to do.

Which was probably good, he only had a few rounds left.

Up above him, McGee heard Kate shout something, and then a single shot. A rain of gunfire followed.

"Please be alright." He whispered, hoping their retaliating gunfire had killed the shooter before the other way around.

Then there was silence. McGee allowed himself to breathe a sigh of relief.

At that moment he was serene. Then he heard the sound.

A loud erupting crack.

He knew the sound immediately.

Gunfire.

And not from their Sig Sauer's.

"Boss?" He asked, via radio.

Silence.

"Boss! What's going on?"

Through his ear piece McGee heard the two words he had hoped he'd never hear in his life.

"Agent Down."

McGee snapped to attention. He grabbed his cell phone and dialed 911.

"This is NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee. Uhh, I need immediate assistance. Umm an ambulance. We have an agent down." He stammered the address out as well.

He hung up and threw his head into his hands. His mind was racing a thousand miles an hour.

Who? Well it wasn't Gibbs. Oh god Kate or Tony. Well maybe they're alright. It's probably just a flesh wound, right?

Forgetting the possible shooter, he stood up and began pacing.

Why haven't I heard anything yet?

"Who Gibbs?" he asked.

A long silence followed.

Finally Gibbs replied.

"Kate."

McGee pinched the bridge of his nose.

"W-Well is she alright? She's okay right?" but deep down, he knew the answer.

"McGee, she's gone."

He ran his fingers through his hair, bit his finger and fought back tears.

"No, no no. God no. It can't be Kate. She can't be…" his efforts weren't strong enough and tears began streaming down his face.

"NO! KATE! NO!" He yelled, and threw his cell phone onto the ground.

He bent over and let one loud sob out into his hands.

"Come on McGee. Be strong." He heard Kate's voice telling him.

He wiped away his tears.

He let his legs fall from beneath him and he leant against the bullet infested car.

"Oh Kate," he said as one solitary tear made its way down his cheek. "I'll miss you so much."
