Not Unlike a Fall

An Interconnected Doctor Who Oneshot & Drabble Collection

Summary: In all of space and all of time, there are millions of heroes. The difference between them and her, was a very important piece. She saved the Doctor. And the Doctor would save so many others. Rose Tyler, Defender of the Earth, Bad Wolf, Human. [Rose/Doctor]

Whenever the Doctor was feeling particularly morose, he remembered her.

It wasn't that she had some unattainable quality that his other companions did not, though sometimes he wondered if she did.

She was the only human he ever let himself love back.

Not that he had admitted it to her, in this regeneration or any other.

He had no doubt that his [Doctor Donna] Meta-crisis had indeed admitted it.

But as much as the Meta-crisis was him, he also was not.

The Doctor would never know what happened between Rose Tyler and the duplicate of himself. He would carry no memories of it.

It was him but could never be him. Rose Marion Tyler had been his savior once.

All of his companions would save his life, yes, but there was only one who saved his soul.

Rose had befriended him when everything had fallen apart.

When the Doctor was feeling his best, he remembered her then too.

And he loved and missed her all the more.
