The Forest of the Forsaken

Deep in the jungle of Strombelopulous, there lived a young elf and his elfin children. They knew of an evil spirit so they kept away from the abandoned mine. The youngest, Gerald became very bored and once he learned of an evil troll, Lazacurus, hidden in the mines he searched for his bow. Lazacurus along with the dark hag Necroticus easily smote him and started their meal.

The elder elf, juejissilah, sought vengeance. Soon the elves went to the magical arms trees to retrieve weapons. Hereafter they were known as the seven samurai. Though they were but elvlings they were powerful, and tested their powers against bandits in the nearby village of Black's Gate. Though they spread much good they still wanted revenge for their fallen elvling. Juejissilah searched the land and found a magical sword. With this they had had the power to defeat the great evil of the mines. Returning home to the land now shrouded in darkness juejissilah realized the sword had a mind of its own. He sheathed the thought and prepared for battle.

They fought, the elves were winning. But then, juejissilah in a fit of rage struck his family with the cursed sword. Turning blue in disgust, he slew the hag, however, its spirit escaped.

Juejissilah woke the next morning and in his grief and anger, lost in madness.

The spirit of the hag Necroticus possessed a man named Gargamel. The spirit corrupted him with the ways of the dark magiks. Gargemel only feared one man, Juejissilah.

The villagers of the town Black's Gate looked in fear, for on the east lay a powerful wizard, and on the north, a sword wielder from the devil's forge. The High council sent an entourage to Juejissilah in an attempt to get the help of the mad swordsman. A warrior, a leader, a scientist and a fishmonger entered his hut. There lay four bottles and an impressive blue elf with a drawn sword. One drinks fast when one's necks are on the line. After the plunge into lunacy, juejissilah delved deep into the art of science, and developed a chemical process to turn a man into an elf. Juejissilah dropped the elves into the elvin ancestral home of Strombelopulous.

After transforming the rest of the village, and guiding the villagers to their new forest he sadly let out a final word.

"Smurf"

Upon saying this word he left the forest, never to be seen again. The blue forest-dwellers found that the transformation proved fatal to their women. Madness gripped the trees.

The villagers became obsessed with the elf's final word. Falsely thinking that the word must host some secret meaning, their obsession

Many years passed and Juejissilah was never seen, although a new citizen was added to the "smurf" ranks, Smurfette. The spirit of Necroticus feared the smurfs as she saw them as mighty warriors, urging her wizard slave to wipe them out, before they learn of the art of the sword promising him gold should he succeed.

Years passed and despite the odds, the villagers of the renamed "smurf forest" grew to be a thriving culture. Gargemel still retained some minor remnants of manhood and could not in good conscience kill the poor elves. Minor magiks and floods was his answer, few casualties ensued. 10 years since the burning of the Dark Gate, something shocked the hag. Smurfette was pregnant. This baby was the key to the survival of the smurfs, an everlasting reminder of the hags defeat. Such a thing could not go unnoticed. War must be waged.

Back in the forest, Papa smurf was eating fruit or "smurfberries" by the magical arms tree. A rustle of branches announced a new arrival. An arrow came from the bush, accompanied by a blood freezing scream. In a moment of pure terror, the leader picked a battle axe and struck the bush. As the head rolled towards papa smurf, ten bodies came forward.

Back in the smurf village a blood curdling scream was heard, Papa smurf was no more.
