Yeah, I'm stuck at home all weekend with chicken pox. I was laying on the couch not touching anything or anyone when this story idea hit me. It's a headcanon and super, duper short, but it's wicked cute, to me at least. I don't really know why it was so cute. It's OOC and AU, because I wrote the "death" of Harry Potter a bit differently.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter

"Harry Potter is dead!" The silence after that phrase hung low in the air, Ginny screamed, the mourning clear on her features. Malfoy's silver eyes widened, his heart stopping briefly as Hagrid dropped the small boy to the ground. He looked so small, so lifeless, his eyes, once full of life and anger, closed permanently.

"Potter." The word left the blonde's lips, barely registering in his mind, he stepped forward, as though to go to him, a familiar cane was before him, with wide, gray eyes, Lucius' eyes touched his, a warning glinting behind them. Draco stepped back, and moments later Harry was fine, being congratulated by everyone, disappearing into the throngs of people.

It wasn't long until Draco heard word of Potter and Ginny's marriage. He married weeks after, vowing to get over the one he'd loved.

"James Potter is dead!" The silence afterwards hung thick in the air, Ginny screamed, the mourning clear in her features, Harry reached out, collecting her to him, and hiding her face in his chest. Draco watched as her hands clutched into his shirt, clenching and unclenching with her sobs.

"Potter." Beside him, the choked whisper resounded, sound like a familiar song from years before. He stepped forward, as if to run to him, then stopped, silver eyes flashing to his father before he stopped. Draco took deep breath, his chest rising and falling before he put his hand against his son's back, pushing him forward. Scorpius' eyes flashed to him, wide with misunderstanding. Draco nodded once, and the younger blonde ran forward falling to his knees beside the dark-haired male.

Moments later, James stirred, his green eyes opening, flashing with life. Ginny's sobs faltered, her eyes lifting to glance at her son. Scorpius, eyes shining with tears, leaned forward, his face pressed to the front of James' bloodied robes, his shoulders shaking with sobs. Slowly, the other's arms wound their way over the blonde's back, comforting him. They pulled each other to their feet like that, never letting go of each other.

Draco's eyes flitted across the clearing, at the same time Harry's did. The raven-haired boy's lips flicked upwards in the smallest shadow of a smile, as Ginny detached herself from him, running out to embrace her son. Draco's facial expression never changed, he turned back to watch his son, as he removed himself from James, smiling at him, his gray eyes gleaming with the happiness that should have been his father's.
