So, here's my Gaara Saku. :) I love Gaara. Thank you to both my wonderful editors. Who knows where I would be without them. -hands one a cookie, and the other a baby- the baby thing is a private joke. Don't even ask. Please. The baby goes to delimitinsanity, and the cookie goes to evilfaerie17. :D Love you all, and reviews are lovely as always. -meaningful look-

Blood

by Nitaki

Blood. Funny, how the word rolls off your tongue so easily, how it
sounds sinister; how it reminds you something creepy that should
be forgotten. Blood. Blood is the only thing that fills the void in
my heart; the only thing that satisfies my lust.
I can't control it. It just happens. One minute they're there;
taunting me. Torturing me. Then, they're dead, broken and mangled on
the ground. Sometimes, I hear a whispering in my mind, too. A cackle or
something, as if something within is satisfied by the blood as it
trickles into the ground, as it soaks into the sand of the desert.
As it laughs, I feel another hollowness that deepens and aches as
more people taunt me. I watch now with a cold mind as they fall,
dead. Their blood eases my pain some, but not enough. Now the people
know not to insult me. They know the consequences.
Then I met her. Sweet, kind, but ready to defend her team whenever
she needs to with everything she has. Some call her weak. I call her
beautiful. She fills the hole, erases the pain from my mind. So now,
as I watch her sleep, I realize I am staring love in the face.

Love, which is a story of fairy tales in our world of hatred and war. Was, I think as
I wrap my arms around her, cradling her head on my chest. Was, a
story of fairy tales.
