Authors note: The ending was quite something was it not? For those who have not read 6-1 you might want to do so before jumping into this. You may be wondering about Sun and as such you have every right, this being said…welcome to a tale that picks up from when Sun and Neptune parted ways with Team RWBY. A brief departure from the other story but important nonetheless. Also buying a bit of time as much of Salem's character and stroke of mastery of her power is still a bit out of my grasp so till I can properly work out the next bit please join me on this venture. Please do not use reviews to bash on ships and such or launch into, well, let us just say last time in reviews was certainly interesting and that is putting it lightly. Here we go again.
RWBY Volume 6.2
CH.1: Self-reflection
Sun had parted company with Blake and her friends as he sought out a return to his team. Honestly it was a long time coming as the last time he had even been with his friends and teammates were back in the festival. The tournament was truly an eye opener and it showed that he and his team still had a long way to go before they could keep up with team RWBY.
His hands rest behind his head as he contemplates or self-reflects on a lot that had transpired in his time with Blake and being around other Faunus. He and Blake had grown close and had built up something great, but, Sun also knew that nothing would come of them being other than friends.
"Are you blind man? Why are you leaving the girl you love? This makes no sense." Neptune manages to chip through his thoughts as he finally looks over at the blue haired male.
"Neptune my man…love is an open door, true while one closes another opens and I like to think of it like that. Blake and I we had some great chemistry and truly bonded over our time together, but, life takes and no point on lingering on what if." Sun went to buy himself something to eat as he was starving but Neptune wouldn't let it rest.
"No, I refuse to believe this is it for you two. I mean this girl is special, she digs you, why just let her go…you should go after her-."
"I think it is pretty clear that Blake and her friends have a mission that goes beyond me pal." He laughed lightly as he paid for his food and offers some to Neptune who shakes his head.
"Listen man me and the others will be fine for a while so you go and do what you need to do and when you are ready we will be waiting." Sun chewed on his food a bit before he swallowed and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I do not need time; in fact, I am good with time now to do what any proper leader would. I think my time with Blake opened my eyes that I need to look after things I haven't in sometime. It is important that I rebuild the bond I have for my team, my friends…and if I continue to pursue Blake what good will that do my health?"
"What are you getting at?" Neptune went to follow after him as he continued to eat. They had a long way to go before they even reached their destination and there were no doubt plenty of stops along the way for the two of them to continue this long winded conversation.
"I am saying that Blake and I will always be friends…and that is it. If I continue to push for something as I have been…it will only push her away. Look I appreciate you putting this all out there, fact is you probably aren't the only one to think so…but it doesn't matter what others think. I am set to put my heart out there and if one person doesn't work out it just means there is more room for others to get my heart beating."
Sun threw away his trash as he rubbed his hands together and took one last look behind him. It was the only time he would do this as he had to look forward now. Blake was special and she would always be special…but…it was time for him to set his sights on reuniting with his team and seeing what the future had in store for him.
"I don't know man…not sure you will get another girl like Blake." Sun begged to differ. He felt that Blake being in his life was great, but, nothing was set in stone. Perhaps in finding himself, finding that mentality to look unto himself it might open doors he never saw before. So much of his time had been focused on Blake and there were times where he came on a bit too strong with Blake.
Blake deserved to be with someone who made her happy but also complemented her. He might already even know who that person would be but it wasn't his place to say. Neptune had his say and that was fine, but, Sun wasn't going to let this go the entire trip so he walked on ahead with Neptune left with his thoughts as they continue on with their destination to the Vacuo Wastelands.
Sun had set up in a hotel room prior to reaching their destination. He laid his head on the fluffy pillow while knowing full well that Neptune was watching him.
"Are you going to watch me the entire time we are here?" Sun had his eyes closed but he knew full well that Neptune had fixed him with one of his stares.
"Blake was one hell of a girl man…I mean a girl like her is one in a million. You are her Knight in shining armor, a beacon of romance clad in abs…who could compete with that?" Sun smiled some as he let out a breath.
"Neptune…while you are on the subject of romance, has it ever dawned on you that while you have been egging on me…that you let Weiss go, or has that slipped your blue head?" Sun now turned his head to look at his friend who appeared taken aback.
"Hey…this isn't about me. I mean…sure Weiss was cool and really beautiful, but, she was on a whole other level ya know. I mean we had chemistry sure but there was never a right time for that to happen. I didn't go off and chase her like you did with Blake…that took guts."
Sun went to sit up feeling like this conversation was not going to let him get to sleep anytime soon. "I did chase after her…and…honestly she deserved better than some guy chasing after her. I didn't give her any warning, not that she would have allowed me as she was dealing with some personal issues. I didn't give her much space while over there and we live in a day and age where a female should be allowed to choose who she is with. Forcing that…it isn't smart, in fact it is takes any choice from her and who are we our parents or grandparents at that? I appreciate your concern over the matter but the way I see it…Blake deserves to be with someone who can appreciate all she is and for there to be a mutual understanding and a time for it all to make sense."
Sun had never spoken so many words before but he wanted Neptune to understand, to hear from him how things are…and how they would be going forward. His friend meant well, in his own way, but Blake was a person…and both of them deserved to find love in their own way.
Neptune shrugs and Sun figures he would put argument to this but his friend merely turns over onto his side and he finally speaks after a bit of residing silence. "I get it man…and…perhaps this is good for the both of us, a clean slate to pursue someone else. Hey man that means double dates and girls galore, yeah baby Sun and Neptune are on the prowl-."
"Get some sleep lover boy." Sun throws a pillow at him as he shakes his head as he stares up at the ceiling. He hoped that Blake and her friends would be safe on their journey ahead. As for himself and Neptune it wasn't like their journey was going to be smooth sailing. The two of them would be embarking on a journey few came back from…and only the crazy managed to survive in…the Vacuo Wastelands…and…a homecoming for the two of them.
Authors note: Plenty more for Sun and Neptune to come and new faces and characters to appear. Some familiar may also show and of course the question lingers where will Sun and Neptune find love? Honestly no idea so hope you are all ready for a road trip.
