Stranger, I've known you for so long
I found you lost with a compass in the fog
Stranger, you knew me too much
Illusionary self had not been touched, until you
Humming Hallelujah in the dark
Whispered poems leave you to be
Humming Hallelujah in the dark
The sun might rise, sometimes does it fall
Hallelujah
Her memory always haunted him. In the dingy space of her wardrobe door, nestled against her sweet smelling clothes, he saw it. Her beautiful face, full of fear - she pressed herself against the door as her murderer stood before her. He wanted to reach to her, to save her, but he could do nothing.
He tried to block out the memories, he tried to repress them under the happy times. Never could he. All he could see was her violation, her red hair ripped from her skull, her tiny body being thrown to the ground. And her screams – always her screams – like a drum in his head. He would press his hands to his ears but still they would echo and vibrate in his brain.
Blue eyes, wide with horror, he watched her die. The knife entering her body as she was hacked to pieces, her mutilation, her deflowering – he saw it, he saw it. But never did he move. Nestled in her clothes, they cocooned him.
Blood stained the white carpet, spreading like paint across the wool – a vile, sickly red. It clung to the man's boots as he left the room and left the house, a trail of his devastation. The boy emerged from the wardrobe, shaking like a leaf in the breeze. He rushed to the girl's side, clutching her head in his hands. His eyes squeezed out tears.
"K-Kairi…"
Stranger, you followed me so far
Until the roads converged as did the stars
Stranger, the moon looks blue tonight
Your photo framed, raw within my mind, but not tonight
Humming Hallelujah in the dark
Whispered poems leave you to be
Humming Hallelujah in the night
The sun might rise, as sometimes does it fall
Hallelujah
This world was neither black nor white, naught was it gray. Naminé could never place the colour. It always swirled around her, a constant change in pallet, direction and balance. It was never the same shape or the same or the same direction, but it was always such a boring sight. You saw everything, but you never experienced it. She hated waking here.
Her eyes opened slowly, gingerly embracing her surroundings. Her hair was fanned around her body, suspended in the air like a statue, frozen only until she turned her head. Much like the rest of her body draped in the sky, it waited for her movement.
"Naminé, you have been chosen." A voice rang from the void. The blonde child allowed his voice to carry her to a state of alertness. In that moment, all she could do was sigh.
"Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah."
