Danny opened his eyes from his deep meditation. The chi of the team was thrown into chaos by one possible criminal. The Spider lay sleeping with assistance to calm his frantic energy, Nova's own youthful cosmic energy tightened into a frenzied coil of chaos, and even Ava's wild animosity that circulated and demanded her control the territory was sharpened and focused on one soul purpose.
Danny took a deep breath, attempting to achieve a state of perfect calmness before approaching the two more aggressive awake members. His meditation now completed, he stood up and made his way to find Nova and White Tiger. His chi thrummed calmly, only to be thrown into what could only be described as upset passion within the well trained monk. His face looked slightly more concerned as he pondered the event.
When he grew close to the prisoner, his chi would attempt to guide him to strike out against the young criminal. And yet, there was a an oppression from his training to avoid harming a nonviolent individual.
The chi of the criminal, the boy was disagreeable with all his training. Something so raw and unrefined thrummed through the boy. Something positively feral within the quiet prisoner. With another breath, he stepped into the room of the prisoner. The boy looked up to the mask Danny wore.
He didn't open his mouth, as he seemed to stare into his soul. Brown eyes into white eye lenses when Danny saw a spark of fiery orange in his eyes, hilighted by a brilliant yellow.
A yellow that burned eerily similar to his own Iron Fist he obtained in Kun Lun. Danny walked closer feeling his chi crash violently in his body.
The young prisoner looked him over when he realized Danny had no intention of leaving. He surprised Danny when he spoke.
"You shouldn't be here. Can't you tell you're not wanted?" he asked. His voice was raw and saddened.
"I wish to understand. My friends are driving themselves to exhaustion and illness."
The prisoner sighed.
"You're not leaving without an answer are you?"
"That was my plan."
The room felt lighter suddenly, as if the very air was cleaned and his chi put into a calming lull. He reached toward his chest curiously.
"But my mother showed me how patient a monk could be," the boy admitted, "I had just hoped that my power would keep you back."
"You seem to have accepted this fate."
"Can one ever defy fate?" he asked with deadly seriousness.
"Perhaps. I may assume you've tried?"
"Once."
Danny didn't ask how. Hell, he was surprised that the boy had talked this much, as well as was the very issue his chi had when approaching. It took a person with a strong spirit to be able to effect another's chi, and the boy had been doing so for so long to effect him.
"Do you believe that is why you are here?"
The eyes told everything. A simple yes was all he needed. But there needed to be more said. There was something more than just defiance. He had been broken. That much was clear.
Danny reached towards the prisoner, placing his hand to the glass like barrier. He flared his chi towards the prisoner when he felt the agitation again. But not because of the boy, not directly.
But there was something off putting about his chi. It was split. A surprising subdued royal purple, leaning closer to a reddish hue than blue. Shielded by a fierce fiery golden orange. The energy was nearly overwhelming as he recognized the thrum of energy from the lessons of the monks.
"Kur."
The boy shut down. His face and body became stone like. But Danny had a start. Sam and Ava looked like they needed help anyway.
Why am I even adding more to this? Oh well.
Yes, Danny understands or at least knows of Kur.
Anyways, fourth installment of the "Beyond" series.
