Home Alone

Chapter three

Patrick kept on trying to get to Giovanna but the boundary was too strong, he kept being shot back. When Giovanna stopped her potion making, she drank the potion, and the boundary was broken. She walked out of the kitchen beautiful; it seems that Giovanna stole all of the people who had made fun of her, beauty. Patrick couldn't believe his eyes she was the most beautiful twelve year old ever. But that wasn't the point he had to teach her a lesson what she did was wrong.

The next day before leaving for school he tried to talk to her about what she had done but she wouldn't listen just kept repeating, 'it's what they deserve.' Like that made the difference. At school Giovanna looked around to see what her magic has done. Everywhere she looked the students and faculty who has made fun of her looked ugly, Giovanna smiled happy that her potion worked, and she knew how to make them pretty again, and she was going to tell Patrick when she got home. The only way was for them to see themselves as they truly were and mostly apologize for their actions.

When Giovanna got home she was ready to tell Patrick how to turn all of the people who have made fun of her back to normal, but he never came home, she looked in his room and his stuff was still there.

"He might be working late." Giovanna told herself, "nothing to worry about."

So she went to bed not really noticing whether he came home or not. That morning was a Saturday and he still wasn't home. "He must have had to go into work early." Giovanna said again to herself. She made herself a bowl of Lucky Charms and sat in front of the television. She waited all day and once again never came home.

For days Giovanna waited, no Patrick not even a phone call. Giovanna got scared thought he got hurt, she called the police making a missing persons call. Saying that her dad has been gone for days, the policed searched and searched finally finding her father, but Patrick didn't want to be found. He told the police to tell Giovanna that he was dead. He was too scared to face her, she has gone to the dark side and he has seen what she is truly capable of. Mostly he didn't want to see what worse of an outcome she could create for the world, if she could turn people ugly and steal all their beauty, what worse possibilities could she come up with?

That's what the police told Giovanna exactly what Patrick wanted, that he died. Nothing sadden Giovanna more than having Patrick die, who was going to take care of her? If not Patrick, who was going to read to her while falling asleep, and tell her that she's loved, if not Patrick? Patrick was her only friend and now he's gone. Giovanna grieved and sobbed for days not once taking a moment to think of how to bring him back, not that she could nothing could bring people back from the dead. She didn't eat, sleep, or bath, who would notice not her neighbors. That was until she just couldn't cry or grieve any longer. She knew she had to move on and do things on her own.

The only question that remains is, how?
