A/N: Ohmy. Another songfic. It seems like it's the only thing I can really do. Haha, I really fail at writing fan fictions. Trust me, alright?
Anyways, this one is basically Squirrelflights "thoughts" (I suppose you could say that) when she 'broke' up with Ashfur.
HOORAY FOR SR-71
Disclaimer: No, I don't own Warriors. Seriously, I'd make the series crap if I wrote it. Plus, I do not own this song "Good-bye" by SR-71.
Hope you enjoy. )
I stared at him, seeing blue eyes full of sorrow. I knew it. I shouldn't of left him but. . .Brambleclaw was destined to be my mate. I just knew it.
I'm everything you know
You wonder friend of foe
I'm the burning in your throat when you swallow
But you spit me out
Your stomach full of doubt
And still you're faking every word out of your mouth
But you won't let go
It's all about control
Understand I'm born to lead you will follow
I don't wanna stay
I'm running away
Don't you hear me when I say
A sigh eventually crawled up my throat like a spider climbing up its web, and I had to let it out. Ashfur had been nice to have as a friend but. . .He seemed a little bit clingy. He always jumped to my defense when I clearly didn't need it. Especially by that time near the ShadowClan 'border' when he tried to defend me against Brambleclaw (back when he was a being a furball).
Goodbye, so long, nice try,
I'm gone You don't like being second
I don't like being wrong
I won't forget the way you made me feel
I won't regret running away from here So I'll say goodbye again
So I'll say goodbye again
"Come on, Squirrelflight." A brown tabby tomcat breathed into my ear, his breath hot against my body. "Come on." He meowed once again before twining his tail with my own.
Now it's there to see
You've forgiven me
Ever since I was the prince among theives
So you hold me down
Strip away my crown
Can't contain me knowing all the truth I've found
Always thinking small
Helping me to fail
Now you're jealousy and hate consumes us all
I don't wanna stay I'm running away
Don't you hear me when I say
Just standing there with Brambleclaw made it better than when I was with Ashfur. The tabby seemed so much warmer than the gray cat,
and his amber eyes held a certain sharpness to them, not like a soft blue. Not that I didn't like his blue pools or anything. . .
Goodbye, so long, nice try,
I'm gone
You don't like being second
I don't like being wrong
I won't forget the way you made me feel
I won't regret running away from here
The gray tomcat looked over his shoulder, and saw us. Together. Tails entwined like vines. "Lost. . ." was the only word I heard from Ashfur, and it made my heart feel like it was stabbed with an icy shard.
But he's gone now. Now it's only Brambleclaw
You think you see the world, but you see nothing
You think you see the world, but you see nothing
Time is only gonna make it worse in the end
So I say goodbye again
Goodbye, so long, nice try,
I'm gone
So I say goodbye again
Goodbye, so long, nice try,
I'm gone
So I say goodbye again
Goodbye, so long, nice try,
I'm gone
So I say goodbye again
Goodbye, so long, nice try,
I'm gone
So I say goodbye again
"Good-bye, Ashfur." I meowed lowly, so Brambleclaw couldn't catch what I had said. Good thing too, or he would probably start making accusations. I looked at the brown cat, and green eyes glimmered.
"Okay." I meowed, turning away to pad off with my true mate: Brambleclaw
"I lost you, Squirrelflight. But don't worry. I'll get you back eventually. . ."
A/N: -shot- Sorry it was terrible. :C
