I don't think anyone saw it coming
We all say we did now
But that's just because everything seems obvious when you're looking back
The smile looked a little bit fake
The words seemed a little insincere
And her eyes seemed to inflect down slightly
Little tiny small things
That build up gradually
That no one sees coming
untill it's too late

Looking up at the sky the world seems peaceful.
The warm sun
The lack of noise
Blonde hair swaying in the breeze
Birds flying high above us
She's lying there with her bright green eyes trained on the birds
'They look like angels' she murmurs
I pull my eyes away from her and focus on the birds
'Angels sure fly up high don't they?' I say and she smiles
'I think I'd be scared' she says
'Of being so high up?' i asked
'Yeah I think I would' she says, the smile disappearing
I look at her for a while
'Well that's probably a good thing' i say
'Why would that be?'
'Well you know what happens to angels who aren't scared of falling, right?'
(;;)
The room seemed cold and smelt like death.
'Do you see anything in there?' she called from outside
'Yeah but...' my heart froze when i noticed the pile of that on the ground before me 'don't come in Sakura.'
'What? Well now i have to!' she followed me in with an offended tone
'No seriously you don't want to...'
'oh god is that Sasuke!'
Damn.
'Is... is he breathing? Have you checked?'
'...'
'Oh god...'

Walking through crowded streets of Konoha
Four days after the funeral
It was raining, which seemed appropriate
And the people around were so loud it distracted me from my mind
She's walking beside me with her eyes trained on the ground
'I can't believe he's gone' she murmurs
I look across at her
'Don't worry about him. He's probably much happier now. You saw how screwed up he is...'
'Was' she corrected
That made me stop walking for a second
'Yeah' I said and started walking again
We continued in silence for a while.
'I think I'd be scared' I said finally
'Of dying?' she asked
'Yeah. I think I would' I said, staring at her coldly
'Well that's probably a bad thing'
'What?' I asked
'You're a ninja. Ninja's can't be scared of dying'
(;;)
Sakura's apartment was warm, the window was open and the sun streamed through lighting up the whole place
But the smell was that of death
No one called to me as I walked into the bathroom
And I wasn't that surprised at what I saw
(;;)
No one ever did see it coming
Or maybe I did
The smile was forced
The words were insincere
And her eyes never strayed from the ground
Little tiny small things
That build up gradually
Like when an angel loses their fear of falling
And they stop flapping
When a ninja loses their fear of dying
They stop fighting.
