Author's Note: I was reading some romantic fan fictions and I saw all of them had a certain theme. Mirajane, in a lot of NaLu, GaLe, and Gruvia stories, is an absolutely crazy matchmaker. I was thinking, and I don't think it's like that at all, though they are hilarious to read. So, here is my headcanon of why Mirajane decides to get her couples together.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail, but I wish I did.
It wasn't because of an obsession. It wasn't because of a crazy need to medel in other people's love lives. No, the reason behind it was entirely different.
It wasn't Mirajane's fault that she noticed how Natsu always needed to have some sort of contact with Lucy. It wasn't her fault that she saw how Lucy became even brighter when Natsu waltzed into the guild. It definatly was not her fault that Gajeel looked at Levy with just as much admiration and adoration as Levy did him. Nor was it her fault she realized that Gray slowly opened up to Juvia every day. The fact that her brother and Evergreen, despite their constant bickering, had this look in their eyes saying, "I love you anyways." wasn't her fault either. She couldn't help that she saw how each and every one of them had a certain air about them that screamed that they held feelings for each other.
She was seen as a matchmaker that wanted people together because she deemed them perfect. Really, though, that wasn't the case. The reason she tried to get her friends together was because she knew they deserved each other. Mira knew the feeling of losing a loved one. She knew all of them knew how that felt, too, but they never acted on their feelings anyway. They were in a mage guild for Mavis' sake! She knew as well as they did the chance of them losing each other was higher. Mirajane also knew they may not be as lucky as her to get their loved ones back.
That itself was the whole reason.
She wanted her family, real or not, to be happy. She wanted them to be by each other's side to the very end of their adventure. Of course, she never wanted them to rush things, but she decided it was okay to speed up the process just a little. If it meant that they could spend much more time never regretting a thing, Mira would gladly make it so.
She wouldn't turn into a demon to get that result, though. She wouldn't make some devious plan to get them together especially if it meant putting them in danger. No, she would never do that. Instead, she would lightly tease them. She would help them through their problems until they understood what they felt. That was the way Mira always tried to get her friends to make their confessions. It was the only way.
So, it wasn't because of a crazy obseesion or a need to get couples together becuase she deemed them perfect for each other. It was because she wanted them happy, no matter what.
What'd you think? Awesome? Boring? Please let me know.
Signing out, Cop.
