Take my hand, pull me through.
Please let me be with you.

"It's okay Jade, I swear it'll be okay." Dave pleaded. Jade straddled him, her fangs bared and green energy crackling around her.

"How do you know?!" She hissed, now pressing her ridiculously colored sword against Dave's throat.

I'm hanging perilously, barely,
Off the cliff of true insanity.

"You're not yourself, Jade." Dave said.

"It doesn't matter. Nothing matters except for her imperious condescension's wishes." She barked, pressing the sword a bit harder, drawing blood. Dave winced.

Grab me, pull me up before
I fall down farther, even more.

"Jade, listen." Dave took a deep breath. "I know your mad over davesprite, and I know that this game is hard and frustrating. It is for all of us, but that doesn't mean you can go apeshit crazy on us. We need you." The pressure of the sword on Dave's neck loosened.

Steady now, my two feet
Cannot see the ground they meet.

"We can get out of this alive. We can figure a way out of this shitty game on our own, but you have to believe me. Jade, fuck, look I have known you most of my life, and you have been one of my best friends for the longest time." Jade's body started to relax and the energy around her started to die down. She looked at him with mournful eyes, they resembled a lost dog's.

Take me from this place.
Bring me back to the human race.

"But somewhere along our journey through this messed up game, I realized I see you as a friend anymore." At this tears started to form in Jade's beautiful jade eyes. They gray that used to be her skin started to clear into her golden, sun-kissed skin. "I realized that I loved you Jade. Davesprite had the same feeling for you as I did, but I promise that I'll treat you better."

Remind me this is not me.
Remind me I can be free.

"Jade, stop trying to be the bad guy, it doesn't suit you." Dave gave a small legitimate smile, not his signature Strider smirk, but an actual smile.

Pull me in, pull me near,
Close enough that I can hear

Jade burst out into tears, and fell on top of him. He let her cry against him, clutching her close to his chest. He started to caress her soft hair, trying to soothe her.

Inside your chest where it may be,
A heart that beats in sync with me.

Jade finally sat up to look at him. Tear stains covered her face, but he still looked beautiful to him. She gave him her best attempt at a smile, "I love you too," She kissed him full on the lips. Dave was taken aback, but went along with it. Once she pulled away she put her head back on his chest and listen as his heart beat rhythmically in his chest. She felt her pulse beat rhythmically in sync with his, and fell asleep to the lullaby of their hearts.

Take my hand, pull me through.
Please let me be with you.
I'm hanging perilously, barely,
Off the cliff of true insanity.

Grab me, pull me up before
I fall down farther, even more.
Steady now, my two feet
Cannot see the ground they meet.

Take me from this place.
Bring me back to the human race.
Remind me this is not me.
Remind me I can be free.

Pull me in, pull me near,
Close enough that I can hear
Inside your chest where it may be,
A heart that beats in sync with me.

(A/N: I did not come up with the poem, it's by one of my nerd friends. Here's her Teen Ink account where this poem is published: users/AirRae The poem is call Beats In Sync)

(A/N: P.S, sorry Dave's so OOC, I just wanted to make this as cheesy, and fluffy as possible! I ship these two way too hard.)
