A/N not mine, I own nothing.

Ok, this one just, sorta, kinda jumped out at me. I love music, and it tends to come through in my muse. This is a happy Babe one shot. This is based on the Luke Bryan song Play it Again.

Play it Again

He picked her up in his F-150 flatbed pick up truck, and off they went to spend the day together. Ella had packed them food and drink for the day. They were spending the day at the lake.

They were sitting on the tailgate of his truck with the radio playing, when she jumped up holding her hands out. He could see the excitement in her eyes.

"Oh, my God! This is my song! I've been sitting here waiting for it to come on. Dance with me?" Stephanie asked me.

She grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet. He laughed out loud at the excitement showing in her eyes. They danced through the next few songs. He didn't care what the songs were, only that she was in his arms. It was in that moment that he realized he was hopelessly in love with her.

As he spun her around, and laughed with her. Enjoying the moment, losing themselves in each others company.

Stephanie and Joe had parted ways for good about eight months ago. Ranger was still her best friend, she wasn't dating anyone. The only one she wanted to date, the only one she wanted to be with was him, and well, even if "somday" never came, she would be happy just being his best friend. The connection they had, she needed that. She loved him. Her eyes widened at the thought that she loved him.

When she looked up into his eyes, she saw the blank face gone, and the love shining back. She gasped in realization. He loved loved her!

"Stephanie, Babe...I love you."

" I love you too," she replied.

He was so lost in the moment when she said that. He leaned his head down and kissed her. He poured all the love he had for her into that gentle kiss. He could feel the love being returned in the kiss. The happiness was overwhelming!

She couldn't believe it! He really loved her! Her dream was coming true, under the starry night sky. The feeling in the kiss, made her melt into him. Was this going to start their someday?

As they separated, they looked into each others eyes.

"Are you ready for someday, Babe?"

"I've just been waiting on you," she whispered into his ear.

He pulled her close just inhaling her scent, savoring the moment they were in, the love they were feeling. He had never felt so content in his life. He must have done something right somewhere along the line, to finally have her as his. The light she brought into his life outshines the darkness. She taught him compassion, and showed him how to just enjoy life. He found heaven, and she was in his arms.

She laid her head against his chest, and just listened to his heart beat. He brought peace into her chaotic world. Every time he came near, and the tingle the accompanied his arrival, automatically set her at ease. He protected her, and even in her darkest hour found her. Someday had found them.

As they danced, and the moon rose higher in the sky, their hearts began to beat as one. The night sky was being dotted with more stars. The perfect couple had finally found their hearts.

She was beginning to get chilly, and involuntary shivered. He wrapped his jacket around her, and helped her into his truck. He went around and climbed in, he held her hand the entire drive back to her apartment. He walked her to her door, and made sure the place was clear. He leaned over to kiss her one last time for the night, when she looked up at him with pleading eyes and said the one word he wanted to hear.

"Stay."

He walked inside with her, and she turned the radio on. The song that started it all was just coming on. He grabbed her hand and they danced.

"I hope they play it again," he whispered in her ear.
