A/N Well, this is one of the stories from the profile. Read the 15th's entry if you don't know what I'm talking about. The other one's still in it's first chapter so, as soon as I finish that, I'll post that one as well.

"James, what are you doing here?"

James Daniels looked up to see his friend of three months, Sam Manson, standing over him. Lying under a tree in the park, he was passing his time scanning the skies for the occasional ghost the town always got. Blinking, he brought himself back to the park and smiled. He'd almost forgotten how intuitive and sneaky the goth could be. Sam was one of the brightest in his small group of friends.

"Hey Sam. I'm just relaxing -it is summer after all."

She smiled before sitting next to him. They'd met when James enrolled into the school late -they meaning Jasmine Fenton, Tucker Foley, Valerie Gray, and herself. It was a little odd that he'd come into a new school that late in the year, but his answer was a simple shrug and an "I moved" reply. Since then, he'd turned from being 'hot, new, student who rides a motorcycle' to 'new student who hangs out with the losers' in the first few days. It's been a great friendship though, even with Dash-the-quarter-back and Paulina-the-sick-in-pink-pretty-preppy-princess.

"So, how's your summer been so far?" James sighed and Sam gave a dry laugh, "That bad, huh?"

"I've been stuck in Amity all summer and the rest of it isn't likely to change. I've learned more about ghosts than I ever need to know." Sam frowned.

"What about your parents? Where are they at?"

Despite being friends, there was still a lot of mystery behind James Daniels. He never talks about himself and is a pro at avoiding unwanted attention and questions. More than that, he seems to know exactly when to avoid a ghost as well. Least of all subjects known was his family and where he lived. This is why everyone was trying to get as much info on him as they could.....without going to extremes, that is.

"I live by myself." Sam gaped, James smirked at her face, before she recovered.

"What? Why's that? Did you move out? You don't look like a runaway to me." James shrugged.

"I'm not. I don't even know if they even know I'm still alive."

"Why does that sound like a closing statement?"

James grinned before leaning back and closing his eyes. This game was pretty fun. Little bits of information just to ease the mystery to his friends. The most fun, however, came from holding the best info from them so they don't get the whole story. Like he said, he hung out with some smart people. The whole story....if they knew the whole story, what would they do? Undoubtedly, this game had to have some strict rules on his part.
