Author Note: Hi there:) So this is just a one shot. I'm currently working on a multi chapter fic right now, and I'm feeling really good about it. But anyway, the multi is based on this one shot I did for a picture I edited on tumblr. Please, please, please review and tell me if you have any interest in the multi chapter one:)
I thought of her every day. Sitting in a dark room, listening to cold men as they made hideous plans. She was a light, something to look forward to.
His plans we slow going, hiding from the dark lord is not an easy task. And he knew that she may not want him anymore, but if that was the case, then he would remind her of why she loved him in the first place.
She taught him that he was good, and showed him how beautiful everything could be.
That day, he thought of it every night as he was falling asleep. He saw her near the lake, sun shinning down on her. She was glowing, everything about her was pure and light. When she caught him looking, she didn't look away in disgust, she smiled. That smile was the single most beautiful thing he had seen, until of course the night they first made love.
She walked over to him, and he remembered how sweaty him palms became. "Hello Malfoy."
"Granger." He nodded.
"Why were you staring at me?"
"Because you're beautiful." His voice was bold, but his mind was a mess as he said it.
Her eyes bore into his, and he saw the shock.
"Look Granger, a war is about to start and I'm not about to deny the truth when tomorrow isn't likely."
"You could join the side of good, maybe you would even like it."
"It's not that simple, I'm in too far."
After that they stood in silence, it was a relief. Everyone had been on him about the dark lord, about the new mark on his arm. It was amazing to be with someone he could just stand in silence with.
They met in private after that, finding dark corners in the middle of the night. He told her everything. It was impossible not to fall in love with her, she was safety. When she saw his mark, she didn't cringe, she just ran her fingers over it, trying not to cry.
"So this is what you meant by being in too far?"
"Yes. No one would accept me in the world of good."
"I accept you. I'll always accept you."
Her lips met the mark softly, making a trail up his arms, connecting with his shoulder. Small bites on his neck sent shivers down his spine. He ran his hands down her shirt, unbuttoning her as she did the same for him.
Their breath was hushed, and he remembered how nervous she was, the her breath caught in her throat. They way her hair fell over her as she was on top of him. Brushing his shoulder as he entered her for the first time.
That was the last night they had together before he was shipped back home. Back to the dark, to the deceit. Remembering everything, he had to keep remembering.
It was harder every day, as his plans came to a close, harder to keep it all hidden. But he remembered her and it was all worth it.
