There was no doubt about it: Edo Phoenix was adored by many in the dueling world. His cool and suave attitude matched with his impeccable dueling skills made him a formidable opponent, as well as a figure that many wished to meet and be noticed by.

Of course, that exterior design of Edo Phoenix. It was a cover to hide the secrets that he held within his soul. Behind his friendly face was a boy who had a difficult past, and continues to look for answers so he can finally let all the darkness in his mind go to rest.

So when he met Yuuki Judai for the first time, he could safely say that he considered the other a mere annoyance. A match to prove who could use Heroes better? Please, this was a piece of cake for the Pro Duelist. Of course, Saiou's predictions were spot on. He'd won and proven himself the better Heroes user of the two.

However, he hadn't expected to lose the rematch. While he remained distraught for a time, he hadn't let the anger overcome him. He managed to keep his suave attitude up, and it worked... to an extent.

Small talk was not Edo's forte. Actually, conversations in generally were activities Edo was ever particularly good at. If he needed to make a few statements, he'd simply go and get it over with. When faced with a rather chatty Slifer Red student, he was in a bit of a pinch.

"Hey Edo! Tell me more about your D-Heroes!" The brunet asked excitedly, grinning. Edo shot the other boy a rather annoyed look, looking him over. While he still considered Judai an annoyance, there were times when Edo greatly respected the boy, namely, his dueling skills and stubborn yet unrelenting spirit. It was an attitude he yearned for a times, though not quite as unsightly.

Not to mention he was rather interested in hearing about the Neo-Spacians. He'd never even heard of the archetype, and was more than willing to learn more about the mysterious cards. "I don't really have anything to-"

"I'll tell you about my Heroes if you tell me about yours!"

"My D-Heroes are the best! They're always here to save the day and protect those who call for them!" Ahhhh, oops- He quickly covered his mouth, a red hue dusting his cheeks. How embarrassing, slipping up like that! Edo mentally scolded himself several times over, but grew even more embarrassed as Judai continued to laugh.

"Hahahahaha! I knew you were as passionate about Heroes as I am!" He smiled and pulled out his cards, waiting for Edo to regain his composure. Judai pointed to his cards, grinning and flashing a wink. "Say, wanna duel again? Just a friendly match!"

Edo sighed softly but he really couldn't help but smile. This boy was the first to see him like that, and yet he continued on like usual. It was no wonder he had grown fond of Yuki Judai.
