Night Shadow

I'm back! But with a short fic, most likely a one or two shot, unless by a miracle I'm able to write more. (Ew! Omg! I almost drank the paint stained water I used for washing my brushes X.x). You know how you just stretch your hand out and reach for the general direction where you leave your drink and take something else instead? Well yeah… okay, I know you don't want to hear this, so I'll just shut up and let you read now.

Night Shadow

Run 01: Night

A dark shadow ran across the rooftops of the buildings. A mysterious figure clad in the black of the night, unseen and unheard by the occupants of the buildings below. Just a shadow, a wraith if you will, existing only in the minds of those who encounter it. The only witness to the existence of the figure is the moon, hung above all of humanity, watching from the recesses of the night sky.

The figure stops in its tracks, taking a look at the moon up in the sky, taking note of the reddish hue it was giving off. It was a sign. A sign of blood being spilled, a sign of a slaughter happening, a sign of the ominous darkness creeping up from the darkest corners of the streets.

A scream of terror and anguish echoed over the silent city, breaking the figure from its reverie. The figure's silver eyes flashed red for a split second as she suddenly started off in a sprint towards the direction of the scream.

The wind whispered around her body, taking her swiftly to the scene of the crime.

There was only the body of an unconscious man, and a pile of dust littered next to the body when the figure arrived in the dark back alley. She gritted her teeth, a frown showing on her pale skin.

"Che! I was too late," she quietly whispered to herself as she knelt down beside the man, hand over his head, searching his memories of the past episode.

The sound of vehicle wheels and footsteps heading towards the back alley alerted the figure as she quickly disappeared into the night shadows, all trace of her gone from the spot. She reappeared in another alley, a fair distance away, naturally walking out and away from the scene of the disturbance. She gently pulled the mushroom cap down over her face, and quickly made her way off.

So there, I'll get to making the rest sound… decent?
