( A/N: I'm sorry to inform anyone who gives a damn that How Heavy A Heart is pretty much dead for now. If not clear by the forever and a day ago update. Onto the story then- )

Karkat jumped at the sudden sound, the loud crash of thunder overhead. "Fucking!" Dave snickered beside him, trying to cover it up with his hand. "Can you not fucking laugh at me, that is some pretty scary shit going on in the sky."

No sooner had had he mentioned the sky did the light sprinkles of rain begin to fall. "Is the sky crying, what the fuck is happening, I'm getting wet and it's crying harder, someone pap it already!" He tried to lightly pap the rain but it just got a water drop on his hand, along with the many others falling with it.

"Are you seriously scared of rain?" Dave watched as he swatted at the rain some more "I'm not sca-" Another loud crash sounded above them, cutting him off and Karkat jumped straight into Dave's arms. "FUCK, OKAY, MAYBE A LITTLE."

Dave held him for a second before he realized what they were doing. They were standing in the middle of a rain storm with lightening threatening them in the distance and cold rain beating down on them. Surely someone was going to end up sick if they didn't hurry. "C'mon. We gotta go."

Taking Karkat's hand, they dashed for his apartment, just a few blocks away from them, running inside and locking the door behind them. "Okay. You're not too cold are you?" But Karkat was practically ignoring him as he stomped over to his bag for a change of clothes. "NO, JUST WET AS FUCK. GOG, I HATE RAIN."

His clothes were stuck to his skin and Karkat wrestled to get them off. "DON'T JUST STAND THERE, HELP ME." Dave slapped his hand away and pulled his shirt up by the hem, Karkat face visible at one point. "Well hello again nubs." He greeted, a small smirk on his face as he tugged the shirt off of Karkat's head and tossed it on the floor.

Karkat slapped his hand away when he had made a move for his pants. "Don't you have wet clothes you need to change as well, my body isn't just some show you can watch while you stand there like a dumbass in wet clothes, dripping all over the floor."

Looking down at the floor, Dave saw he was right. A puddle had accumulated near his feet, so he retreated to his room to change, throwing a towel over the puddle beforehand so he wouldn't slip on his way back into the living room.

On his way back, he brought a blanket with him and plopped down on the couch to see a shivering Karkat in a sweater and boxers. "You cold?" Karkat turned around "Yes."

With a small smile, Dave patted the seat beside him. "Come get some Strider snuggles." Karkat rolled his eyes but joined Dave anyway, snuggling up beside him as Dave spread the blanket over them, Karkat wasting no time in closing his eyes and falling asleep.

Dave let out a breathy chuckle when he realized Karkat had fallen asleep and he wrapped an arm around him, closing his own eyes.

(E/N: and I usually clip corners when I write I don't know, it just happens.)
