It had been several weeks since Alfred had won his independence. All Arthur ever did was sit in his study and drink. Madeline tried to take care of him, but it was like she was... invisible.

"Superboy and the invisible girl... Son of steel and daughter of air. He's a hero, a lover, a prince. She's not there..." She sighed and set about her daily chores. There were two portraits by the fireplace, one of her painting and the other of her brother in Arthur's old armor sitting atop a horse. "Superboy and the invisible girl... everything a kid ought to be. He's immortal, forever alive... then there's me..."

She started cleaning right outside the study, Arthur perking up when he heard her sing. "I wish I could fly! And magically appear and disappear! I wish I could fly... I'd fly far away from here... Superboy and the invisible girl... He's the one you wish would appear! He's your hero, forever your son, he's not here! I AM HERE!"

She cried in frustration as Arthur finally rose. "You know that's not true... You're my little pride and joy, my perfect plan. You know I love you... I love you as much as I can..." She wiped away her tears and looked her father dead in the eye.

"Take a look at the Invisible girl, here she is, clear as the day. Please look closely and find her before she fades away." She started crying and retreated to her chamber. She could hear her brother's voice, the memories the room held. She could hear him singing with her. "Superboy and the invisible girl, son of steel and daughter of air. He's a hero, a lover, a prince! She's not there! She's not there! She's not there!" She cried over and over in frustration before wiping away her free-falling tears. "She's not there!"
