Questions and Confessions
"Um, Mione?" Ron walked nervously to where Hermione was sitting in the middle of the packed Weasley living room.
Hermione looked up from her book, "Yes, Ronald."
"I was wondering if you, um, maybe, possibly, would want to go out with me, like on a date?"
Everyone in the room looked up from what they were doing to see the couple and hear the response.
Hermione's eyes widened in panic as she looked around the room searching for help.
She locked eyes with Fred and received a look as if saying "we were going to have to tell them eventually."
"I'm sorry, Ron, but no," she told him apologetically.
"But why?"
"I'm kind of engaged," she replied, waving her wand over her left hand, revealing a delicate diamond ring.
Ron, along with everyone else, gapped, "To who?"
"To me," a new voice spoke up from behind Ron.
Ron whipped around to face his brother, Fred Weasley.
"Wh-what?"
"And I'd appreciate it if you didn't ask my fiancé out."
Fred went to stand next to Hermione who leaned in to kiss him full on the mouth.
"No! She was supposed to be mine! I was supposed to marry her!"
"Ronald, I'm not some thing you can have! I'm a person, not an object!" Hermione exclaimed.
Ron's face turned red. Without another word he stormed out of the room and up the stairs.
It was silent for a few minutes before Mrs. Weasley broke it.
"Fredrick Weasley! You got engaged without telling me? How could you do that to me? Did anyone else know about this?" everyone shook their heads, "Not even George knew! How could you keep this form al of us?" she looked at them expectantly.
The couple looked at each other, "Surprise?" Hermione and Fred smiled sheepishly.
"Oh! I can't stay mad to you two. Come here!" With that, Mrs. Weasley engulfed both of them in a giant hug.
