Studying
The library was silent but for the scratch of quills across parchment and the turning of pages. Christmas break was drawing to an end, and the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry were reluctantly settling down to work on the homework they'd been ignoring for the last an isolated corner near the back of the library one thin, brown-haired boy was particularly intent on the book open in front of him.
An elegant boy with long black hair sat across the table, staring openly at him.
"Sirius," the first boy said without looking up from his notes, "did you forget about our deal already?"
Sirius snorted. "Pete's the one with the short-term memory loss, not me, Remus. Besides, I am upholding my end."
Remus rolled his eyes. "The deal was that if you came down here with me and studied, you would be rewarded accordingly. I fail to see how you staring at me for the last half-hour has anything to do with studying for the Herbology quiz we have tomorrow morning."
Sirius grinned and stood, moving to stand next to Remus' chair.
"I am studying, Remus." He leaned close, lips almost touching Remus'. "I'm studying you."
XxX
Later that night, as Remus lay wrapped up with Sirius, he decided that even though he hadn't quite meant that kind of studying, he was very glad that Sirius had brought it up.
