It had been a exactly one year since Leo Valdez had left Ogygia. Time was difficult on the island, but Calypso had counted every single day and marked it off on a piece of paper. Slowly her hope had begun to dwindle until she'd just broken down crying on the beach one day, sure that he'd never return. Now, she was positive he wouldn't. She was forgotten by the gods and now by the boy that she loved. She should be used to this, getting left behind and having no one come back. But, however much she tried, she couldn't let herself forget Leo's words, his promise, and the kiss. It hurt whenever she thought about the way his eyes would light up when he looked at her or tinkered with his machines; she'd never see them again.

Calypso cried herself to sleep that night.
