Chapter1

- To the capitol

"(your name)" Effie says with excitement. You were just reaped to represent district twelve in the 73th annual hunger games. You walk up to the stage and stare at the people looking you down like you were the weirdest person that has ever walked in the country of Panem. " Rye Krallem" Effie says. As he walks up you remember that he was the one that gave you the bread when you were dying. He fed you and your sister Rosie. you stare at him into his eyes, but you look away. Rye was a very good looking boy who seemed like he was scared. you did not know him and your best friend Gale needed you to survive. Effie tells us to shake hands, so we do it without looking at eachother. you can see he mouths something to you, but you could not read what Rye was trying to tell .

You wait for your friends and family to come in and say goodbye to you. Rosie and your mother come in the room. Rosie clings on to you and she gives you a mockingjay pin that you hold in your palm. You tell her that you would try to win for her and that you would be able to feed her after you won the games. You turn to your mother who is scared for her oldest daughter. I tell her to protect Rosie. As they leave Gale comes in and hugs you. "I don't want to leave you" you tell Gale as he kisses you on the lips. " You have to go" Gale tells you, but you both start balling your eyes out within seconds.

You meet up with Rye on the train and you both look at eachother in the eyes. You did not know him, but you knew that you could not kill him. He saved your life and you would have to kill him within the next week or two. You shed a tear thinking about having to kill him. Haymitch walked in and was very drunk. You both look at him and give him a weird look. He talks to you about how to find sponsors and how to stay alive. He leaves and you decide to get some sleep. You got about four hours of sleep last night, but you walk out of the room to get a perfect view of capitol. Rye was already there. Haymitch tells me that he knew what he was doing.
