Ack…we just had our major snowfall (snow day!) and I had a massive snow fight…after I shoveled the driveway on my own with NOB…for no pay. Ah, well…don't expect me back 'til February. SAT studying is evil, on top of midterms and Canada. I'll be gone, by the way, the week of 12/18 on that particular trip.
This was one little mushy story I came up with shoveling. Don't ask. It's one hell of a piece of crap, and ANOTHER DxS story! NOOO!
DISCLAIMER: no.
RATED: T for mushiness.
Snow and Ski Goggles
A black-haired g i r l was skiing down the blue run, tripping over the chunky ice. Her ski had twisted off. Groaning, she climbed carefully back up and got her ski, breaking off the packed snow on the bottom of her boot. She then clicked it on again only to be knocked down by a snowboarder who lost control.
"Ah, damn!" he muttered, tightening up the latches on the board. Sam adjusted her goggles and hat as she tried to pull out the snow from her sleeves.
"It's okay. I was an accident waiting to happen anyways."
"Thanks, Sam, is it?" the boy asked. Sam stared back.
"How did you know?"
"Your jacket has your name on it," he said, pointing to the nametag her parents made her wear at all times. She laughed nervously.
"Right," she said. "Well, we better get going, or we're never going to make it over the set of half-pipes."
"Sure," nodded the boy. "By the way, I'm Danny."
"Hey, Danny," she sighed dreamily once he left. She then started up again, picking up momentum to get over the large half-pipe hill. She'd probably never see him again.
The next day, she actually did see Danny. He was going down the same blue run, which was, minutes later, closed down because of severe winter weather. She went up to officials to ask.
"Well, the snow's piled up 10 inches fresh. The wind's up to 50 mph, and you can't see or hear crap on the run." She bit her lip. This was the hardest blue run!
"Get outta my way!" she yelled. Although she didn't know Danny, she knew enough about him that she needed to get him. The official swore at her as she ducked under the tape and started down.
They weren't kidding; within seconds, she was walking on the snow. She tried to ski, but couldn't because she couldn't even tell if it was going downhill or not. Trying to make it out alive, she bundled up her scarf more. The last time she didn't, she got a mild case of frostbite that was cured before the amputation stage.
She finally tripped over something again. She flew and was buried under a foot of snow, trying to claw her way out blindly. Finally, a hand grasped hers and pulled her out. She could just make out a boy's figure. She grinned under the scarf. So did he.
Buried under the snow, which was creating little mounds on their heads and shoulders, they stared at each other. Danny took off her ski goggles and lowered her scarf. She grinned as he pulled off his goggles.
They leaned in closer and closer until their shivering lips met and sealed. They didn't even care anymore if they died out there now. Someone would just have to get them.
And so they stayed that way, kissing in the middle of a horrible blizzard while everyone was evacuated off the now completely closed mountain.
End
Mushier than expected…hmm. Actually that whole "closed down run and mountain" did happen. It all did. Same with the blind skiing; I was there. It was nasty; I'm lucky to be alive…and frostbite was the same. I had frostbite…come to think of it, I went through a lot…ah, well, hope you enjoyed!
