"Did you see the look on the slimy git's face?" exclaimed Ron. The tall redhead was referring to one Draco Malfoy. "it was a completely unnecessary thing to do Ronald, wasn't it Harry? I mean was the hex really necessary?" replied the ever rule following Hermione. "mmhm. Absolutely" said the raven haired boy who was starring out the train's window at the passing scenery of Scotland. "Harry, your not even listening to a word we're saying" said an exasperated Hermione.
This was in fact true, Harry was reflecting on his recent year at Hogwarts. The triwizard tournament and it's tragic ending. Cedric Diggory, dead. His eyes starring into Harry's own; such lifeless eyes. It was all Harry could see when he closed his eyes; those dead eyes starring accusingly at him, begging to be saved.
"HARRY!" He looked up to see his two best friends looking at him with pity in their eyes, pity that he didn't want to see. "I'm fine guys, really." Ron and Hermione shared a look that he was growing accustomed to seeing. Ron opened his mouth to speak "Harry mate,-". Suddenly the door slid open quickly and there was a blinding flash. "Harry, Harry, how are you?" asked an over energetic Collin Creevy. Ron started standing to his full quite intimidating height, "Now see here Collin, now is not the best ti-" "No, it's ok Ron" turning to Collin he forced on a smile that resembled a grimace and asked "Was there something you needed Collin?" "Oh, no. I just wanted to say bye before the train gets to the platform. Can't wait until I see you next year Harry. Oh, and I really am sorry about what happened in the tournament, and if you ever need someone to talk-". "Ok Collin, I think that's enough" said Ron protectively getting up and shooing Collin out of their compartment.
"Over zealous little git, isn't he?" said Ron sitting back down across from his best mate. "Oh, leave him alone Ronald. I happen to know poor Collin doesn't have many friends." Said Hermione. "Or any.." muttered Ron. As Ron and Hermione continued to bicker back and forth about the friends or lack of friends that Collin had, Harry had already turned back to the window, seeing Cedric's dead eyes.
"Do take care Harry dear," Molly Weasly said in a motherly tone. "Just send an owl if you need anything, and don't forget to write often." "I will Mrs. Weasly, thanks for everything" replied Harry. "Oh, such a polite boy as always," said Mrs. Weasly grabbing him into a hug. "Mom" groaned Ron, "let him go". "Oh Ronald, do shutup" said Mrs. Weasly turning to give Hermione a hug next. "Well mate, hopefully you'll hit a growth spurt this summer" said Ron jokingly. "Yea maybe, I'll even grow taller than you" said Harry smirking. "But really Harry, I'll try and get mum and dad to let you come to the burrow soon. "That would be great, give me something to look forward to" said Harry. "Oh Harry, I'll miss you"said Hermione. "Make sure to write soon ok?" "Yes, mum" said harry sarcastically.
He watched as his friends walked with each of their respective families away from the platform with sad eyes. He really wasn't looking forward to this summer with the Dursely's. If they ever found out about Cedric.. ugh, he shuddered to think of Uncle Vernon's reaction to his being a 'murderer'. "Hurry up boy," shouted his uncle gruffly. Slowly he turned towards his uncle's company car, dragging his trunk and Hedwig with him. He never felt the pair of smoldering eyes on his retreating back though. "Oh yes, I just can't wait until we next meet Harry"
