I sprinted down the dormitory stairs and ran into James. I yelped in shock and jumped backwards, tripping over the bottom stair. James' arm snuck out and caught me. I scowled, annoyed that he couldn't have just let me fall. Now I would owe him one.

"So Evans, now you owe me one," he stated. James looked so smug I wanted to slap him until his hair laid straight.

"No I don't," I glared at him. I shoved past him and turned my head, "And don't even think about it Potter!" I called back, leaving him staring at me with his mouth hanging open. I danced down to the great hall at slid along the bench next to Alice, my seventh year best friend. She glanced across to me and grinned.

"What's making you so happy?" She queried, "I don't think I've seen you this happy for about a month!"

"Oh, nothing, just the usual," i shrugged the question off vaguely and put a stack of toast on my plate. I reached over Alice to get the butter and felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Lils, what did James say to you?" Marlene McKinnon asked.

"Huh? What do you mean?" asked Alice.

"Alice, leave it. He made me jump and I tripped. He caught me," I explained.

"And are you sure that's all?" Marlene raised an eyebrow. I turned her head and gave her a soft glare. Then I carried onbuttering my toast. Marlene and Alice chatted about things, boys and clothes. I didn't really pick much up, but it wasn't very interesting. After about ten minutes we got up and went to potions in the dungeon. We ended up being almost 5 minutes late, but because it was me Slughorn let us off. Two hours later we left. James stopped in front of me on the stairs.

"Evans, you me, tonight," he started.

"No James just leave it!" I sighed. I was not in the mood for him.

"But at least tell me you'll think about it," he almost begged.

"Fine!" I snapped and strode away. Alice and Marlene followed me and we went to the library to catch up on some homework. Remus came and joined us after a while which none of us minded. But then Sirius and James came and sat down a started annoying us. So we all silently decided to tip their chairs over with out wands. Sirius got up laughing so hard he fell over again. But James didn't get up. Sirius poked him and yelled his name but he didn't move an inch. Remus, Marlene, Alice, Sirius and I knelt down beside him. I started praying that he wasn't hurt. I made a promise to myself that if he wasokay then I would accept one of his dates.

"James!" I cried out. My hand raced up to cover my mouth. I hadn't meant to say that out loud. Everyone stared at me, confused. I blushed and realised that there was an extra pair of eyes staring at me. His hazel eyes met my green ones and before I knew it I had my arms around him.

"Evans?" James sounded scared.

"Yes! I'm so sorry James, yes!" I sobbed. He looked confused, "I will go on a date with you James!"

"Um... Really?" He asked, "Are you sure?"

"Yes! I am definitely sure." I confirmed. James grinned. The others sighed and walked out. James just kept on grinning and grinning. He was grinning the whole time.
