Tear Soaked
Part 2 of "One Cut Away"
I slowly opened my eyes and squealed and jumped then backed away from him when I saw him standing over me by the bed. "Whoa, whoa, whoa," He said, "Easy. What's the matter with you?"
I didn't answer as I looked around the room panting. There were no cuts on me, no scars. My cheeks weren't throbbing.
It was all a dream.
I sighed deeply with relief. I remembered now that I had gotten sick and got a huge fever. I looked up at Daddy. Tears ran down my cheeks, "Daddy…"
He raised an eyebrow at me. He sat down on the edge of the bed, "What's the matter with you, kid?"
I shook my head with a whimper, "Nothing." I didn't want to tell him for the fear of him getting mad at me.
"You're lying," Daddy stated. I looked up at him. He took my hand, "Show me." I had the ability to show others my memories and what's in my mind by merely laying my hand against their cheek.
I obeyed and placed my shaking hand over his cheek. I showed him everything, the whole nightmare. When the flashback ended I drew my hand away from Daddy and clutched it to my chest with a whimper as tears ran down my cheeks.
I looked into Daddy's endless blue eyes when he grabbed my chin and made me look at him. I averted my eyes. "Kotone, look at me," He told me. I obeyed. "How could you ever begin to think that I would treat you like that?" He asked me. He wasn't angry to my relief. I simply whimpered without opening my mouth. "Answer me," He said.
"I don't know," I sobbed. "I'm sorry, Daddy. I'm sorry. Please don't be mad at me."
"I'm not mad at you," Daddy wiped away my hot tears. I leaned into his touch. "Listen and listen to me good, kid. I would never treat you like that and don't you ever doubt that. Do you understand me?"
"Yes sir," I nodded. I suddenly threw my arms around him and hugged him with all the strength I could muster, "Daddy…" Daddy held me to him tightly. We both looked at the door when it opened. I saw Mama walk in with a bowl filled with warm water and a rag.
"Oh, good, you're finally awake," She smiled at me. She looked at me surprised when she saw my tears. "Why did you make her cry, Grimmjow," She asked Daddy.
"I didn't do anything," Daddy protested.
"Then why's she crying?"
"I tell you later, Hime," Daddy held me to him as my head rested against his shoulder. His blue hair brushed against my forehead.
"Fine," Mama said. She looked at me and smiled, "How are you feeling, baby?"
"I'm ok, Mama," I answered her. I hugged Daddy tighter with a sob. He looked at me and pulled me into his lap. He wrapped his arms around me.
"Shush up," Daddy told me lowly. "It's ok. It's over."
I looked up at him with my blue eyes, which where identical to his. He looked at me. "I love you, Daddy," I told him.
Daddy softly smirked at me, "I love you too."
Mama smiled at us and sat on the bed next to us, "I love the both of you." She threw her arms around us. I couldn't help but giggle.
