The last time he'd seen her was eight years ago. He could tell she had improved. in everything.
She had grown from the small and weak girl to something much more. Just standing here at the edge of these woods looking at her. Even with the cloak hiding half of her face, he could see it in her eyes, how full they were now. Maybe it was because he left. Maybe it was because now that he was gone there was nothing stopping her from exceeding, of making something out of herself.
But he could still tell by looking at her, that she still had a deep feeling for him. No matter how much she tried to hide it, the furrowing of her eyebrows and the slight widening of her eyes, he knew. When she saw him standing there looking so intently at her, a feeling lurched in her heart that she knew she couldn't ignore. With all her practice of trying to block it out, it exploded in her from a mere meeting of the eyes.
