In case you don't know, Sonic Says was a very well known part of the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon which played at the end of each and every single TV episode. The purpose for our favorite blue hero was talk to the young viewers about real life issues, such as peer pressure, strangers, guns, smoking, electrical appliance safety, and (the most famous and well known of all) sexual harassment.

When I was in intermediate and high school, I was a victim of bullying and I was constantly picked on and cruelly teased because I was a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, I had acne and I was also wearing glasses. So I decided to write a "Sonic Says" segment of my own. I hope you all enjoy!

Tails is standing in the school hallway as the school bell rings, opening up his red locker to put his textbooks in. He then places his books inside his locker and takes out his brown lunch bag.

A tall, muscular, green lizard bully, wearing a black leather jacket and a purple beanie, snuck up from behind him and grabbed him by the tails.

"Hey, what the-?!" Tails cried out in alarm as the bully lifted him up off his feet, shoving him roughly in the locker, laughing cruelly.

"See you later after school in front of the flag, you two-tailed freak! You better be there, or I'll pound you!" The bully sneered, walking away. Tails calmly got up and whirled his two tails behind him, flying right over to Sonic the Hedgehog, who happened to be standing right by the drinking fountain. He tapped the blue hedgehog on the shoulder.

"Hey, keed," Sonic asked in concern, "What's wrong?"

"Sonic," the young Kitsune said, as he explained the whole situation, "That big kid is picking on me again. He shoved me right in the locker and called me a two-tailed freak! He said he'd pound me after school."

"You did the right thing, little bro. Don't you worry, we'll talk to the teacher about this right away." The blue hedgehog smiled assuringly, as he placed his hand on the fox's shoulder. "That big kid who called you a bad name, threatened to pound you and picked on you is a bully, Tails."

"A what?" Tails asked the hedgehog, as he looked up.

"A bully is a person who is mondo mean to others, takes your stuff, and he or she hurts, frightens or even tyrannize over those who are weaker or smaller. A bully tries to make you do things you don't want to do or even leave you out of a group on purpose." Sonic explained and then he turned to the readers. "Bullying can include name-calling, tripping, punching, kicking, shoving, teasing, and even threats. Kids, bullying can happen anywhere, especially on the bus, the neighborhood, the playground, or at school. If a bully is bothering you, just play it cool. Calmly walk away, find a trusted grown-up like a coach, a parent, a principal or a teacher, and tell them what is going on! Remember, bullying is way past Un-cool! Sonic says!"

And with that said, he gave the readers a wink and a thumbs up.

THE END

This "Sonic Says" segment is also dedicated to the memory of Amanda Cummings, Jessica Kassandra Haffer, Desire' Nicole Dreyer, Megan Taylor Meier, Drew Ferraro and all those who have lost their lives to bullycide. May you all rest in peace.
