Katherine raced down the highway in her 6 speed Subaru WRX STI, madly shifting gears until she was going at unspeakable speeds. With the windows rolled down and the air through her hair, she finally began to feel some peace as she sped away from the city she once knew as home. She took a deep breath and smiled slightly, for the thrill of high speeds on that beautiful day made her feel free. For a moment she forgot about all her trials in life.
There was no sweet story about her life, as it had been a hard one thus far. She had been brought to the breaking point and had to leave, if only for a short time, to clear herself from the pain.
Her destination was a place of serenity and peace. A place she was once close to that held much value to her. She arrived after a few hours and got out of the car and took a deep breath. She had always considered Seattle her true home and had done a lot of growing up there. At the edge of the ocean is where she felt most content and relaxed. The cool ocean breeze blew slightly as she gazed out at the vast sea. She kneeled in the sand, closed her eyes and slowly let her tears go. Noticing a nearby restroom, she went back to her car to retrieve a small bag which held her bikini and a few other minor items. After changing into her bikini and a sarong tied around her waist she walked out ankle-deep in the water. She simply stood there for a long moment breathing in the ocean air and watching the sunset. It was the most relaxed and peaceful she had felt in a long while.
She had always felt at home near the ocean. Born and raised by it, it was a part of her. Seeing and hearing the waves, the seagulls flying above and the feel of the water around her ankles soothed her aching soul.
Kat pulled off her sarong and tossed it into the sand. Stepping out into the water until it touched her fingertips, her recent thoughts of suicide crossed her mind. Swirling the water around her she tried to let the thoughts go, but it was difficult. The ocean comforted her and she closed her eyes and lifted her head toward the sky. Taking a step further into the water she realized she could never take her own life and that she would find a way to beat the darkness that haunted her. Watching the last bit of the sun disappear behind the mountains, she took one last deep breath and turned to retrieve her items from the sand.
Sliding her sandals back on she returned to her car and went out for a drive downtown. On a Friday night the city was alive with action and excitement. She decided on stopping in at a local club, but first checked into a hotel to freshen up and change. After slipping into a black mini, red strapless top and black stilettos, she spiced up her red hair a bit, threw on a black sheer duster and headed to Club Element, which happened to be hosting one of her favorite techno artists. She walked into the club with a slight bounce in her step and was instantly mesmerized and entranced by the energy and beat inside. The music ignited a fire in her soul and she joined the crowd, lost in dance.
After dancing for quite some time she headed to the counter for a drink and encountered the sexiest pair of blue eyes she had ever seen. They belonged to a man named Brandon. He offered her a drink, she accepted and they talked for the next few minutes and got to know each other a bit. When they finished their drinks he offered her his hand and the two of them stepped back out and let their bodies move with the beat. They moved so well together and were completely lost in each other. They danced the whole night away and when closing time came, they left together.
