Sam sat on the ledge of the fire escape. She peered down at the small people down below. Ants to her, they bustled around the busy sidewalk, frantically trying to run last minute errands. The night sky above her was pitch back with no stars shinning because of Seattle's bright city lights. But Sam knew that they were there, so that was enough for her.
Alone. Alone is what she was. Utterly and hopelessly alone. Sure, she had Carly, but the brunette doesn't understand what it's like to be you. Everything is sunshine and flowers with Carly. To you, it's all dirty streets and dark alley ways. She supposes that Spencer is there for her too, but what could a 180 pound man child do for her really. Freddie? Please, he wouldn't even make eye contact with her after that night in the elevator.
So there she was by herself with only her thoughts to keep her company.
It's not so bad.
But it was.
Maybe one day, someone will join me out here
But they won't.
And Sam knew that her subconscious was correct. They won't come.
The breeze had picked up a little and now her golden hair blew back, a couple of lose strands found their way onto Sam's pale face. They danced across her cheeks like a ghost's fingertips. Something was comforting about the wind. It caused Sam to slightly grin and show her a little of her pearly white teeth. It was almost perfect. A low voice rumbled through the air behind her,
"You know, it's kinda dangerous to be out here at this hour."
Sam turned around and met warm chocolate brown eyes.
Sam smiled even wider.
A/N: Just a little one shot for you all. Did you like? Maybe I'll continue it but only if you all want me to. REVIEW LOVELIES.
