I am looking for a story that I began reading but never finished. It's all-human. Bella's best friend Alice sets her up on a blind date with a lawyer who works at Alice's husband, Jasper's firm. They double date and seem to hit it off. The next date is attending a fancy event that takes place in a posh hotel. Bella wanders off and becomes lost in the enormous garden courtyard of the hotel. She runs into Edward, who is wealthy, pretentious, and cooperate bigwig of a string of hotels, including this one. He is with his supermodel dejour and bored to tears with her. He is rude to Bella, implying she is irresponsible for not paying closer attention to her surroundings. What he won't admit however, is that he himself had gotten lost in much the same way the first time he entered the courtyard. Angered by the encounter, Bella returns to the hotel ballroom where her date proceeds to feed her drinks. He suggests they check out the balcony overlooking the ballroom. They begin kissing, but all too soon things get out of hand. She asks him to stop but he is undeterred. Just as Bella realizes the predicament she is in, Edward interrupts what could have become a deplorable situation. Edward is surprised when instead of her gratitude, Bella gives him an attitude, believing she could have handled things without his so called help. I know it's a bit wordy, but I hope it may jog someone's memory. Any input would be greatly appreciated since I am at a total loss as to where to begin looking.
