This is my fanfic for the "Micro-fic Contest" It's about Davis. I think it's sad, but ya know. I'm a fan. Anyway, on with the fic!

Polygons

I'm in Geometry class. That's a good thing. The teacher is so blind she can't she past Friday. It's Tuesday.

But I hate geometry class, it reminds me of this day I had once. I was younger, and lucky me, the question asked by someone next to me would mean the rest of my life.

"What shape would you want to be? Circle or Square?"

I picked square. "They're cool."
Everyone else picked circle. Lucky me.

"Kari, why'd you pick circle?"

"Because they're better than squares, silly! They're everywhere, they're the happy face stickers, and represent the world!"

"Oh."

We'd walk outside for a break after. Mrs. Hamasaki had stopped me. "I think squares... are cool too." She winked.

Gee, Thanks.

I was a square. And I really wanted to be a circle. Tai's goggles; circles. My digimental symbols; circles. My soccer ball; circle. But I didn't mention that I had square goggles before, I had square juice boxes, I had squares.

So I draw circles in my squares on my worksheet. It helps me remember that deep down inside me, there might be a circle. But I'm Davis, 4 sides, 4 points, 1 face. No outline of a happy face that represented the world for me. I won't be anything else.

The teacher asks this question.

"Anyone want to be a mathematician?" She's sad. Nobody listens to her.

"I do."

"Why?"

"To turn a square into a circle."

She smiles, "That's great, Davis."

Gee, thanks. "Thanks Mrs. Hamasaki."
