Harry was totally bored. Double History of Magic with Professor Binns was not his favorite way to pass the time. He glanced out the window. Outside was a landscape of trees and grass covered with a layer of gently falling snow. Some first years were outside, wrapped up in scarves gloves and many layers, throwing snowballs at whoever they saw. Harry sighed and noticed he was not the only one gazing at the picture perfect scene.
Hermione was also gazing through the window, her usually attentive self lost in the engaging outdoors. Normally, Hermione was the least asleep in History of Magic, nudging Ron or Harry when notes were to be took. Her gaze met his and she smiled grimly. Harry smiled back, watching her scribble something on a piece of parchment, which she folded and put under the table.
Something tapped Harry on the knee. Hermione was passing him the parchment. He slipped it inside his book and read
"I'm bored! Help!"
in Hermione's neat script. Harry scribbled a response"Your knight in shining armor is here, bored also."
He also put a picture of a person in the snow, throwing a snowball. Tapping Hermione on the leg, she received his note and wrote another reply."Harry."
it said, with an arrow at another person, whom the snowball had hit. The pitcher was labeled "Hermione."Harry threw Hermione a mock angry glare and drew another picture of some people dancing, a pair hugging with a heart drawn over their heads and a message saying
"That wasn't very nice. (Throws snowball at annoying girl with brown hair) Ha Ha! Got you back!"
Hermione replied with
"Missed!"
The two people dancing were labeled "Ron and Ginny." The two people hugging were labeled "Hermione and ?""It's Krum!"
Harry wrote back and he got a reply of an angry face saying"No way! Try closer to home."
"Ron?"
"He's already in the picture, duh!"
"Malfoy!"
"Don't make me sick!"
"Miss Granger, are you listening?" Professor Binns asked Hermione, pausing his lengthy speech about Berdin the Barmy.
"Yes Sir." Said Hermione brightly, receiving a note from Harry and inconspicuously putting the note in her book.
"That was close!"
"You're telling me! I nearly got detention for a month!"
"So who's the other guy in the picture?"
"Wouldn't you like to know!"
"Come on tell me! Please!"
"OK, it's…"
"Who? Me?"
Harry stomach did a flip-flop as he passed the note to Hermione. She blushed as she handed him the next one."Got it in one Harry! I underestimated you!"
Harry spent longer in this drawing, Hermione waiting anxiously for the reply after telling Harry who she was in love with. Him. Finally, she received it, as they were sitting at dinner.
The picture was of a boy with messy hair, glasses and a lightning bolt scar, hugging a girl with shoulder length wavy hair and the words
