Slenderman

Walking in the trees

I was told to never do,

For the feared "Tall Man"

Would kill me with ease.

I didn't pay heed

And wandered in anyway

And then I saw the note

"I game I want to play."

I read it, and saw to my surprise

"Eight pages you must find,

Do this and you will live,

If not, fear will stand before your eyes."

I swallowed in fear,

For this was the Slenderman,

Who wandered these woods,

And took our lives so dear.

I set off to find the pages,

Only a flashlight in my hand,

Finally, I found the first of eight

An act, which took ages.

I found the next two in a breeze

And felt more confident

Until I heard the drums

Echoing through the trees.

It wasn't until I entered the house

When I saw him,

The dreaded Slenderman,

Then I felt small as a mouse

I found the fourth page and ran,

Past the dreaded creature,

I leaned on a tree and said to myself

"Seriously, dude, be a man."

I found the next three

with no incident,

As I hunted the final page,

I thought, "finally, I'll be free."

And then I turned my head,

And saw him stalking me

And suddenly, there he was,

The thing I most dread.

So now I wander,

A ghost of the forest,

Along with many others,

Left to do nothing, but ponder.

What if I had not entered, on that fateful night?

Would I be home, with my family,

or would I have left now,

to carry my own light?

So beware, child of man

When you look into the woods,

Run as far as you can

Or risk being caught, by the dreaded Slenderman.
